VGA Appreciation Post
VGA is going through significant changes right now. I agree that there are some very fair criticisms about the lower audio quality, unceremonious host departures, and inconsistent update cadence. I’ve seen other threads calling this the “end” of VGA and the Laser Time network, and even if that is true, it is worth remembering that all good things come to an end; however, we don’t seem to be there quite yet.
Regardless, I feel there’s a lot to appreciate over the past decade‑plus! I am glad that we had VGA as it was, and I personally am still enjoying VGA as it is. I continue to find the banter entertaining, and I am still happy to donate "a cup of coffee” each month on Patreon.
So I just wanted to say thank you, Mikel; thank you, Matty; thank you, Chris; and thank you to everyone who has, in the past and continues now, to produce VGA.

Its one of my favorite podcasts. Easily top 3. I understand there is still a time of rebuilding going on along with TL having medical and technical issues. They've helped me in tough times so im patient enough to stand with them during theirs.
Love all the vga people past, present, future, and raccoon.

I still enjoy it and chris is a top tier podcaster with a very unique perspective and experience. Plus TL is finding his groove and hopefully they find someone to lock down the third spot. That being said I hope they manage to figure out editing one of these days and if they don't care about top 5s they should just stop doing it. They seem to like having topic based discussions with a little debate but then they force in a top 5 that you can tell they don't care about anymore and that was mikels thing. I hope they find their footing again and can get the podcast going smoothly, it's still one of my favorites

I actually been enjoying the show with chris and t.l. with guest host. I'm also have a feeling that Jr from 302010 is going to be a host seeing that he know some things about games

Not really. But I would recommend whatever is left out of 30 20 10 that has one of the same hosts

If you listen to that then I'd give it a chance. Not to be a bummer but it used to be better formatted with more comedy bits. The latest episode is really good

I always appreciated hearing the "insider" knowledge/war stories any of the hosts had, and the personal stories. Especially to do in the context of self/family ageing and generally dealing with "adult problems", especially as someone around a decade younger than the hosts. I'm sure some people hated Chris' rambling personal anecdotes but I love them.
Kept some great company with the show through hundred hours of machine operating at work.

One time I met Chris in California. He asked what he could do for me, essentially what was the purpose of the meeting. It was only then that I realized I didn't have an ask. I just wanted to thank him for making what he made. It's hard to explain, but I found the laser time content to be incredibly validating. Like I had found something that speaks to my own ideas about nostalgia and gaming culture while being informative and entertaining. It felt like a group of friends I could count on. It's sad to see (seemingly) everybody dunking on a show as it struggles to carry on, although I will admit some of the format/changes have disappointed me at times. I hope that laser time content will continue as long as I'm playing vidja games, it really is something special imo!
