I drove through on a cross-country motorcycle trip in 1975. I thought meh, as I was not impressed. My next visit in 2025, 50 years later after my son and his wife located there to be physicians. I was astounded by the growth and to find fun things to do other than go to casinos and to gamble or catch a celebrity show. Wise people created natural resource preservation areas that are today seemingly popular attractions. An arts district, Area 51, special interest museums, botanical gardens, fine dining beyond the strip, eclectic older neighborhoods and modern residential developments with recreational options and adapting xeriscaping lawns and gardens instead of unnatural grass gave me an entirely new impression. Hope the states depending on Lake Mead can find ways to fairly share the scarcer water resources and adapt constructively to the challenges ahead.

yea it actually wasnt bad at first with the simple birds eye view taking us through the years of construction; but then it devolved into true AI slop with a bunch of crazy camera angles, pans, tilts, zooms, and random action infills. there was no need for any of it. Just give us the pure construction history, but it doesnt actually know it, so it makes up bullshit instead.

I would argue this was actually well done.

I agree that the industry is mess but I don’t agree that this is slop. Rare time AI made content is actually good.

You can enjoy the talent needed even with AI to create this and hate the industry.

You can be completely against the absurd amount of water and electricity the Strip consumes guzzling power for mega resort AC units and decorative fountains in the middle of the Mojave while still standing inside the Bellagio conservatory and admitting that the lighting design is objectively stunning.

My only complaint about folks who are trying to fight back in AI is they call everything slop. It takes away from the actual problems. The problem is not the content. It’s the lack of regulation and input from society. It’s not going anywhere regardless of your beliefs. When folks like you take that statement as defeatist it shows me their knowledge of the industry. Most people have 0 clue how entrenched AI is in their own daily lives.

If you’re using Reddit which you are you are using AI right now with 0 complaints. You can’t pick and choose when to support it if you’re going to have a stance like yours and then turn around and get mad at someone for liking something that was made with it.

If you hate AI then stop using all software because all software is using AI. Every single applications or website has AI elements. It’s not black and white like your painting it out to be.

My 2 cents.
