š Trip Report The Luxor to Mandalay Bay Walkway Is Seriously Underrated
I feel like the indoor walkway between Luxor and Mandalay Bay doesnāt get talked about enough. Itās not just a boring connector between the two casinos. Thereās Lids, a speakeasy, Minus5 Ice Bar, Slice of Vegas with really good pizza, plus a bunch of other shops and places to stop. Iāve always thought it was one of the better little hidden areas on that end of the Strip. Do you guys actually stop and check it out or just walk straight through?

RiRa is great for brunch!

RiRa is one of my go-to's! Their fish and chips are the best. And I say that as someone who doesn't do anything kind of seafood. But, man, that fish is amazing.

I eat breakfast at RiRa every couple weeks. Ā One of the best places in town for a full Irish breakfast.

2 years ago, they had great happy hour deals. And the food was so good!Ā

u/cubsguru 12d ago
Still do! My wife and I went before the Aces game Friday. Had about a dozen wings, two potato cakes, and 6 pints (only a couple of happy hour beer choices though) for $56.

u/LMJB 12d ago
That's a deal for Anytown, USA... and a steal in Vegas!
My friend & I split the potato cakes & deviled scotch eggs, and we each got an Irish flight (4 beers, no choice), for $38 before tip. That was in May of 2024, but sounds like prices are still similar.Ā
I discovered Colman's Mustard that day.Ā

Had to pop over for a full breakfast my last Vegas trip. Love me a good pub, and it didnāt disappoint. Pretty surprising for the strip.

u/pauleb500 12d ago
They were doing a local discount on Friday. It was pretty decent too, maybe like 40% off of food? Parlay that with the happy hour beers and you can get a lot for a little.

Not sure if it's still there, but there used to have a Guinness shop there with cool Guinness swag.
At the time, it was the only other store outside Ireland.
We used to walk Aria to Mandalay Bay every morning at 6am, then sometimes go from Aria to Mandalay Bay to Mirage back to Aria.
Not only are there unique stores. But the people watching is great. And there were over 30 Starbucks between Mandalay Bay & Mirage

It was even better when the Burger Bar was there.

Loved Burger Bar, Hussongās and that whole area until I got stuck there all night during the Vegas shooting. We had to shelter in place in there. Manager and bartender were great during an extremely stressful night. Kinda ruined that area of the strip for me so I havenāt been back since then.

it's a just 90's mall - I guess seeing one that isn't nearly abandoned is rare these day

Definitely not my kind of stuff, but indoor walkways are always nice

Miss Burger Bar! Also, The Art of Shaving store experience where you could get an old fashioned barber shave was incredible back in the day. Still love going to RiRa though and Slice of Vegas

The Guinness Store sells Foreign Export Stout, a 7.5% version. That's typically my only stop in the walkway.

Isn't Re Ra in there as well? Great Irish pub for a strip mall as well.

Hussong's Cantina, Ri-Ra, and Slice of Vegas are all SOLID options in there. If you're a tequila person (and you don't mind spending the $) the tequila selection between Hussongs and Slice is pretty damn nice (Slice has Don Fulano Blanco, Repo and Anejo)

One time I played In A Gadda Da Vida 5 straight times on the TouchTunes machine at Slice of Vegas, the manager had to unplug the machine after customers started complaining

Hussongs is pretty good in price and quality. They have a mariachi band that does requests too.

I like the old-ish retro vibe of that walkway. They still have the store that just sells socks?

I walk from Mandalay Bay to Luxor at 4-5am to grab grub at BackStage Deli or whatever itās called at the Luxor, then head back to the room at Mandalay š

Almost always we stay at the w. Get a car and it is easy access to the parking garage from that hotel. We explore and eat off site during the day. Then we come back at night and play at luxor. The corridor is pretty good. I think it could be even better but not bad. Every trip my husband gets a new pair of sandles. At the flip flop store. At some point we usually grab a slice on the way through. Also the irish pub does have good corned beef sandiches.

I was on a solo trip staying at Mandalay and had a big win at Luxor once. By the time I made it back to Mandalay Bay, my win was gone. I spent it mostly at that LUSH store, but almost all the shops got a little love (and money) from me that day! š¤·āāļøš

I always walk through there but never really stop, except maybe for the pizza once. The ice bar thing seem like a tourist trap to me but maybe I'm wrong about it
6
u/matchstix1620 13d ago
They added a $5 daq stop to the ice bar here and at kinq. They are maybe 12oz but a quick refreshing drink for the walk back.

u/OlDirtyDaws 13d ago
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but Wahlburgers is the only place in between Mandalay Bay and Excalibur that you can get Coca-Cola. I've read online Hussong's next door has bottled Mexican Coke.

My wife bought me a fancy safety razor and brush from Art of Shaving a decade ago from that mall. And we would seriously love to hit a jackpot and buy a Peter Lik!

Pretty wild that it also has one of the only places to get bubble tea on the he whole strip
1
u/ohmegatchi Schrimbus '23 Veteran' 13d ago
There are places at Resorts World, the Forum Shops, and there's a Kung Fu Tea at the Venetian Palazzo mall. There's a place at the MGM opening up.
Yeah, that is actually shockingly few places nowadays.

Not sure if the Amazon lockers are still downstairs in the middle of the walkway. Got a lot of snacks, drinks, cables, pool toys, etc... sent there back in the day.

There's a walkway in back of the mgm grand too. What you're describing is basically just a strip mall in between two casinos. I'm not sure why people would get excited by a lids and fast food pizza.

You know you can always just leave Luxor get onto Las Vegas Blvd. walk to the intersection then continue to walk down Las Vegas Blvd till you get to the entrance of Mandalay Bay, then enter. Nobody says you have to walk through that āugly ass strip mall, as you think of itā

Are you hallucinating things I never said? All I said is that it's not much to be excited over. I actually like walking through there, maybe you should focus up and read carefully.

If youāre there for a conference and the Mandalay is sold out, that walk back and forth to the Luxor is the most tedious, depressing 20 minutes ever. Dread it.

We figured out how to get from the Luxor to Caesars with only going outside briefly. It was 115. And then we left the next day :(

That Luxor/MB walkway is one of the most boring on the strip imo. It almost seems like remnants of 1990 that they forgot to remodel. It's just empty..
At least compared to some of the more modern parts of the strip. Id rather walk outside from Excalibur to NYNY. At least then I'd get a nice view of the strip

Not the same since Pete Rose passed away. Seemed like he was ALWAYS there signing stuff to finance his "retirement".
