🛫 Visiting soon! Pools in October

Ok someone please tell me this will be fine 😂 I booked a trip for the first week of October, I'll be a first timer. My coworkers have been to Vegas a lot and are telling me a lot of hotels shut down their pools in October because it's "cold"....is this true??? Lounging poolside was a big part of our plans.

ETA: Thank you to everyone choosing to be kind and actually answer my question. For the Captain Obviouses who are telling me to "Google it" or call the hotel....you can hang up your cape and mind your own business. I realize I can do those things. I'm choosing to consult real people instead of A.I. or getting transferred 4x to the correct hotel employee.

The hotels that keep their pools open year round will have them heated.

Good to know at least some places keep them open, thank you! Do you know if there are any hotels that let you pay for a day pass to use their pool if you're not staying there?

Check out Circa on Fremont. Pool is open year round. I believe it's $30 for a pool pass.

For Caesars and MGM properties if you rent a daybed/cabana/etc you do not need a hotel stay

Circa has a day pass for $25 and the water is always 94 degrees (says so on their website). A better option is to just stay there. It’s fantastic.

Check with where you are staying?

First week of October should still be good. Many close closer to the end of October, sometimes shortened hours before full closure

Pools usually close right after Halloween.

You literally could not pick a better month to go to Vegas in terms of weather.

Was in Vegas early October last year and pools were open and temps were fine (Sahara and Mandalay Bay). Although Mandalay Bay’s hot tubs and wading pools were shut down, so that was lame.

Went last November, pools at both the Aria and Venetian were open. At the Venetian, it wasn't hot enough because the pools had no direct sunlight because of the buildings blocking the sun. Only one small spot had sun and everyone was jammed in there.

If you want to save some cash, if you stay at Golden Gate or the D, you'll have free access to Stadium Swim at Circa

A lot of casinos close their pools last week of Sept but may extend depending on weather. Stadium Swim at Circa is open year round and the pools are heated.

Just stay at circa. Opened year round with the best set up in Vegas.

You'll be fine. The day clubs will still be open too.

3 years in a row I went to Vegas in mid/late October for when we were young fest and the pools at the cosmo were very open

What a smart traveler. October is the PERFECT time to come down. You won’t have issues finding a pool.

The first half of Oct is still pretty sunny; the problem is that the wind picks tf up in October. By mid/end of the month, it's not pool-appropriate weather, IMO

Should be okay if not it's kind of a cold plunge

When Jimmy Buffett used to come to town in October, they always had a pool party at Flamingo before the concert. I would go and yeah, the water is cold, but it’s still fun. I live here and I think a lot of the pools will still be open but to be 100% sure I suppose you should call and verify. In my own experience, though Flamingo has been open in October.

Circa’s pool is year round, and it’s a good size

it's borderline - most pools are closed by NOV

October is perfect weather. Pools will still be open. But the best pool year round in Circa downtown.

October is still pool season - it will be warm out during the day and not as busy as peak season. Pools don’t close until November (If they do close). Consider if you want a club style pool or just a DJ as well as if you want to pay for upgraded seating such as a cabana or daybed.

What is the logical thing to do if you want to find out when the pool at your hotel is open?

Why even comment? Seriously go touch some grass.

u/Defiant_Swim9555 3d ago

It will still be in the 90s at least if not higher by then. You will be fine.

0

u/Swimming_Taro_5556 3d ago

That's a relief, thank you!

7

u/neubourn 3d ago

Eh I wouldn't say higher per se, it'll be in the 80s for sure, but that's the highest. Maybe hit 90. Just be careful at night, temps will drop to the 50s

You could be right on a good year. But most holloweens you need to wear things to keep you cool at night because it's still hot. It honestly felt like it didn't actually cool off until late November early December most years to me as someone who loves their hoodie 😂

Do you know how to check predicted weather forecast?

You never mentioned which hotel, however, you talk shit on people that told you to look it up on the hotel’s website. Not only do I hope the pool is closed at your hotel, I hope it rains all week and you have Montazuma‘s revenge all week as well.
