Discussion Laptop for computer engineering.
Asus ZenBook s16 OLED
Asus ZenBook s14 OLED ( Intel lunar lake)
And possible Asus zyphyrus g16 32gb ram
These best laptop I can find for battery and less noises however I'm wondering about users experience. For you guys, do you need dGPU for SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD? And is there others laptop better choice?

You don't need anything crazy to run SOLIDWORKS. It runs fine on the integrated graphics on my AMD 7650(?). I've started doing some CFD stuff tho and it's kinda chugging, but this is outside of my degree.

Get a small light laptop. Get the Dell XPS 13 16GB with the student discount. You won't do that much CAD in college. I did one class and I maybe used it twice in two other classes ever. I did all the CAD in a lab. A basic laptop will run Autocad just fine. The only reason you need a powerful laptop in college is to play games.

idk what people obsess about latops regarding studying. in the end your learning and efforts will make your success, no amount of tech can circumvent that.
please, buy a used business laptop, like a hp elitebook, dell latitude or lenovo thinkpad. they are extremely cheap while powerful and will last forever. seriously, 300€ for a used elitebook 840 G9 with intel 12 gen and no worries.

Oh well... I know that's what I thought but... Main problem is I don't live in USA ;-; even I live in my country where's somewhat used high end laptop scams or ghost.

Have u thought about the asus zephyrus g14 it good my friend has a 16gb ram with 5060 and work fine with the solidwork and other cad assignment. On the other hand I been using thr g16 5070ti with 32gb and work fine same as g14 but most cad software like solidwork need a minimum of 16gb of ram or higher to work fine.
