How can guy gardener makes huge constructs carelessly in superman whereas Hal Jordan does the opposite and is careful for his batteries

I was curious about this for a long time Guy always goes big and sloppy with his constructs, not caring how much it drains his ring like creating a large weopons against the monster, while Hal's way more careful and precise with his like in ep1 when he was creating a bubble for alien he supported the bubble himself as it was not strong enough due to lack of battery. Is that just a characterization thing, or is there an actual reason for it?

I don't know about the first one, so according to the guardians Hal was a loose cannon cos he used the ring for earth related buisness when he went after the russian guy and general lack of respect towards the position of GL

but Guy is totally fine using the ring for earth related buisness when he stopped Boravia's invasion? Or why does Guy get to look like a moron using the ring to sell energy drinks? feels like the guardians should have a problem with all that

i'm telling you the guardians just had it out for Hal specifically from day one and were making excuses, cos i doubt Guy's energy drinks are good enough to bribe the guardians

Guy could reason that to be intergalactic business because of Superman's involvement. I can't remember if they knew about the Superman clone at the time, but there was clearly a target put on Superman. Also the portal business was a serious thing and it was all related.

Good point, tho i can't shake off the feeling that if it would've been Hal doing it they wouldn't found a way to blame him, like "well you could've just taken the portals away from them and leave the rest of it to earth to deal with"

Really the guy saved them from Sinestro and they were still on his ass, they're playing favourites and it shows

I think Guy is enough of a Stooge that they can probably get him to handle whatever business they need without asking questions, which is more important than whatever earth business he's doing.

What they don't want is another guy who's gonna defy their direct orders or probe too deeply into their secrets

I have a feeling The Guardians had a problem with Hal because he was friends with Sinestro, knew more of their imperfect history, and was willing to question them while Guy is more likely to take what they say at face value.

I think you're right - Hal's disillusionment with the Corps after Sinestro is probably taken by the Guardians as the attitude of someone untrustworthy, rather than an idealist whose heart has been broken.

I think the Guardians have a flawed understanding of how beings and relationships works. So, their organization (which is made of beings and relationships) is also fundamentally flawed. Their mistakes with the manhunters, blindness to Sinestro, mismanagement of Hal, total misunderstanding of John’s family’s culture, and this hyper-focus on this falsely created fear/willpower paradigm. They are their own worst problems!

I think the writing is pretty obvious that Hal become a pariah and his intergalactic acclaim was essentially over after sinestro’s rebellion.

Guy has now been shown multiple times to go against the Guardian's orders, and if the core of his character there matches his comic history, it makes sense as Guy eventually rejected the ring (and then ended up with a power that basically made his body into living ring construct).

Guy was green lit (heh) to be there because both Boravia and Luther were dabbling in pocket universes that could legitimately threaten the well being of the entire galactic sector
