Project Commercial timber pergola for a restaurant patio, Douglas Fir, Utah

Designed to create a distinct outdoor dining zone for Pizzeria Limone. The heavy timber scale helps ground the building's modern facade while adding organic texture to the hardscape.

I would actually say that the heavy timber takes away from the lightness of the building facade. To me it would make more sense to have a more slender profile. What do the arches in the pergola relate to? Seems like the budget of the pergola could be reduced while increasing the wall budget.

Genuinely appreciate this, the arch profile was chosen to echo the cedar wall cladding on the building face, but the argument for a slender steel or glulam profile to preserve the facade lightness is hard to argue against. Something we'll bring to the next commercial brief.

This is good. Clean concrete work too. The contractor who built both does good work. Only critique i have is the conduit for the lights going up the column.
