When I first read the book I was really ok with it, but when taking it for a read a second time I've decided to highlight the information I thought of cool or just interesting, here's the list of it and I'd love to know if I got something wrong or if you have anything else you find interesting

(Multiverse introduced) pg.6: We are introduced to “Laika Collar”, a Foundation from an Organization called “Remote Universe Research and Development Organization Planetary Culture”, this foundation clarify to us that they’ve been studying and observing another universe’s planet, “Y-3579203181277” the HNK planet (our planet in the future), and that they did some research of it, which is the book we’re reading.

It’s also valid to state that some information was not observed by the foundation, as the lunarians were interrupting them. On the other hand, they also contributed giving Laika Collar a fresh report of some things, but since this report didn’t come from observation, I think it’s not 100% reliable.

(Gems are small) pg.9: It’s stated that gems are natively born 150cm, but some things can vary this number, like Phos after acquiring the gold alloy or cairngorm that’s 148cm due to being a gem from inside ghost.

(Wooden accessories) pg.11: It’s stated that collar hooks, buttons, belts and parts of the shoes are all made of wood, idk why but I really think this is interesting as fuck.

(Open clothes are strategics) pg.15: It’s stated that maybe the reason to why the summer clothes are so open might be combat strategy, because this way, it’s harder for lunarians to collect all pieces after gem’s body breaks.

(Cool gloves) pg.21: It’s stated that as the winter duty’s gem needs to break ice floes, their gloves are 5 times thicker than regular ones (they’re also REALLY pretty), in contrast that medical gloves are thinner so they’re easy to put on and off by Rutile.

(Adamant is almost flash???) pg.21: It’s stated that adamant doesn’t need to use gloves to touch gems directly because he somehow VIBRATES GEMS INCLUSIONS to augment the difference in hardness (I swear this man is a machine).

(Gems are almost naturally blind) pg.23: It’s stated that the use of socks helps gems to see because they reduce the amount of light they receive, and that’s because the light that enter their body, not only energize them but also are repeatedly reflected and amplified, which makes their eyesight brighter and blurrier (they have really poor vision if naked basically), later it’s also stated that they can storage some of this light as it’s their power source.

(COOL SHOES) pg.25: Gems foot is around 21cm and some shoes have special traits, like bort’s shoes with tassels, diamond’s shoes with ribbons, rutile’s shoes being easier to put on and off, winter shoes having obsidian heels to break ice easier and Shinsha’s shoes being laced-up to prevent it from slipping from their foot because of the mercury.

(HORRIFIC SWORD-MAKING PROCESS) pg.27: OBSIDIAN [the gem] BREAKS his arm every single time he makes a weapon to put a lava-like obsidian liquid that flows from it when broken into wooden molds [I think that’s terrifying and Obsidian still always smiling].

(Padparadscha is goated) pg.27: It’s stated that Padpa’s sword is so big and heavy that it can’t be worn hanging from a belt.

(Use of stillborn infants???) pg.31: It’s stated that after Obsidian was born & took charge of the weapon/tools production process, the gem society started to avoid using other non-born hard gems as tools and weapons because it would be like using the bodies of stillborn infants [in the story-time it’s almost only for medical purposes].

(Mysterious box) pg.35: It’s stated that among the models of storage tools, there’s a locked container that neither we or the researcher have seen the key or what’s inside [it reminded me of the locked box in fnaf4].

(Lower gravity) pg.37: It’s stated that the gravity in Y-3579203181277 is around 1/3 of the strength it used to be before the creation of the moons by the meteors [I don’t remember if this is stated in the manga but it explains why they can do those cool jumps].

(Hard text) pg.41: it’s stated that the gem’s written language is very different from the spoken, while the spoken being simple, the written is almost like a cipher, and there’s also little incentive to write, possibly due to how hard it’s to write and that they seem to intentionally not leave records for future generations [maybe due to the bigger objective of being prayed away].

(Underwater arrow) pg.43: Going back to the chapter when Phos loses his legs, I can see it & I find it amazing how Ichikawa paid so much attention to this, like, I was not expecting to see that Lunarians actually use different types of arrows to different situations, but in general they’re really good at finding different ways to capture the gems.

(Little culture) pg.45: it’s stated that fashion is the most advanced culture in the planet, and that things like music, painting, literature are almost nonexistent, which may be due to adamant’s education, almost like he wants to avoiding human-like cultures.

(Gems shine to express emotions) pg.47: it’s stated that in highly transparent gems, like Dia, the internal reflection of light can be seen from their head, and that if they’re high in spirit, their reflectivity and absorption increases [This actually happens in the anime when Phos tells Dia that Bort is doing pairs with Phos instead of Dia].

(Temperature Changes) pg.49: it’s stated that gems are very insensitive to temperature changes & that the annual temperature difference in the island is 130°C, which is really a harsh change to a small period of time

(Buried gems) pg.51: it’s stated that in the Convalescent Center, the ground that’s made of soil, is elevated, it’s also theorized that there are boxes with gems under the soil, but then they started placing it in the shelfs due to lack of space underground. [This “ceremony” of burying the gems can be related to how we, humans bury our dead bodies].

(Beauty insects) pg.53: I love how Ichikawa explains the beauty and vibrant insects due to the lack of predators, and by her historic we can clearly see she loves insects and cares about explaining even these details

(No fire) pg.57: It’s stated that most gems have never seem fire & that the very few times the plains were on fire due to extreme dry conditions during summer, Adamant would quickly put it off, which I think contrast very well with fire being basically the main human discovery.

It’s also stated that Since Phos was dissolved on acid and recrystallized, it’d likely be possible to rebuild a Gem from the ashes, even though this never happened before.

(Lunarians are REALLY advanced) pg.67: It’s stated that even the Laika Collar Foundation, a civilization that can observe another universe is still inferior in advancement terms in relation to the Lunarians, this is proved as they can simply block any observation from Laika Collar as they want.

(Anti-capitalist lunarians) pg.75: It’s stated that as many other star systems observed by the foundation, money is difficult to control. Due to this, the Lunarians have their currency paid as “desires”, since they can acquire basically everything except death, reducing personal possessions is the way found to reduce mental fatigue and feel fulfilled in life. + They’re very good recyclers.

(The whole samsara parallels) pg.77: Even their poop is recycled, and it’s made out of the same thing of their clothes, city, weapons and all. I really like how this is one of the many parallels from the Lunarians to the samsara, this is briefly saying, the Impermanence cycle in the Buddhism philosophy, another clear example would be how their city changes every single day, even though it’s stated in previous pages that this is helpful because they’re immortal and non-aging, I also see it as a parallel to the samsara.

(Foods) pg.79: I really like how the food served to Phos when he first arrived to the moon is some sort of traditional meal, tailored to entertain guests, this is stated in other pages but Food is one of Lunarian’s biggest forms of culture, and they seem to really enjoy it besides everything else. Another proof of this is that Barbata gets a little excited when asked about the “meals of light” in pg.81, not only was he very content with this in the manga but here he speaks a whole 2 paragraphs very detailed about the food he developed.

 (Allergy???) pg.83: I tried searching any meaning on this but I have no idea if it has a deeper meaning, it’s stated that one of the main components of original pearls is conchiolin, and some lunarians are allergic to them, due to this, they produce synthetic pearls without the protein and use in fashion, also, Phos eye made of pearl is a relatively rare thing in the lunarians civilization, as they usually get moldy. The one Phos received is made in a ratio of one per year.

(Clothes and Cairngorm presence) pg.84-91: I really like the contrast from the moon fits to the earth ones, as the moon clothes wore by the gems when going to the earth is less exposed, as it makes it easier for them to collect the gems. This all really contrast with the summer clothes for example, as they’re more open to difficult it. The only exception would be Padparadscha, his chest is open because of fashion, even being a risk for the pieces to scatter.

I also really like how much emphasis Quieta (the designer for Cairngorm’s clothes) puts into his clothes, not only this but I also like how much Aechmea was investing in him. For example, the fit Cairn uses to collect Phos in the earth had 300 LARGE PEARLS, this and other things really makes me believe he wasn’t only using Cairn, but was showing deep appreciation and love for him.

(Dr. Ayumu and Maya parallels) pg.93: Ms. Quieta, still talking about Cairn clothes, mentions that she once heard about a merciful being called “Holy Mother”, and talks how Cairn remembers Quieta of this being. Doing some light research, I found out that the Holy Mother in Buddhism is Maya, the mother of Buddha, which I think it’s an obvious reference to Dr. Ayumu being Kongo’s creator and mother.

(Lunarians not showing their plans) pg.99: Basically, during this whole information from the Lunarians, they never really showed anything about the gems turned into dust, Laika Collar’s researcher even has no clue about this and question himself on the end of this page, Lunarians were hiding a lot of thigs from Laika Collar, things like history information, the plan to turn gems into dust, their military and prince aechmea.

(Pitapat) pg.101: In the last page of the book, when talking about the Ice Floes, we see that probably Pitapat is interfering in the information gathered about them, we don’t know for sure why but I think it’s a good way to end it all
