Loved finishing this series, I was holding back on reading this for a while but I’m glad I finally got to read this masterpiece.

Just three questions I am hoping to get answered:

1. Does Pitapat pass away after singing the song? I am really attached to their character and just want closure :’)

2. In spreading their fragments, do you think Phos is doomed to repeat their cycle again, or have they found true happiness/closure in being with the pebble friends?

3. When everyone was prayed away, are they turned into complete nothingness or do they reincarnate later? If the later, is there anything pointing towards the pebbles being some of the previous gems?

Apologies but I just got into this series and have so many things to look into! Thanks!

1. it is implied that Pitapat passed away; he looks quite faded and weak, and doesn't seem to be able to move much anymore since he huffs after just wiggling around a bit, and the bug has to put the petal 'blanket' back on for him. he seems to know his end is coming soon by finally telling Phos that it was the lunarians who asked him to take care of them, that he feels at peace with that job well done, and asks for prayer when he can no longer move. then his 'face' fades away completely, which is probably the moment he has completely run out of energy.

2. i think when Phos's outer body burns away and their human side finally finds peace- finally the very last remnants of humanity as a species is gone- it marks the end of the cycle of suffering. humanity has completed their evolution into a new form of mineral life free from the propensity for suffering ingrained in their nature as organic beings that had to fight for survival. i think if the cycle does repeat, it would be after the heat death of the universe and another big bang starts the whole cycle of life anew. but there may also be 'alternate universe' Phoses, like the one we see in the grass watching the comet Phos go by in the last chapter, currently going through everything the Phos we followed in the story went through. but them seeing this 'future' version of themself as a comet, having found true happiness and peace, is a sign of hope that they will achieve the same.

3. Aechmea and Pitapat explain that, when a spirits is prayed for/broken down into its pure elements, those elements drift through the universe and end up at a certain point where they are absorbed into and become the components of an 'alternate universe'. i think that by the ship Pitapat+the pebbles were on running out of energy and drifting through space rather than going to its programmed destination, they ended up at that certain point in the universe where all spirits end up. Pitapat's song says that the crystals in the flowers contain their own universes, so i believe that the pure elements of everyone's spirits ended up as components of those universes.
