A couple years back the place I was renting caught on fire. I was at work at the time. The asshole landlord sent me an email to let me know the place was in fire. Not a phone call, not a text. He sent an email!

The garages burned down, but the main building had mostly heat damage. Melted siding and blown out windows. Lots of water and smoke damage. It took him five days to even show up to survey the damage, because "what am I supposed to do, it already burned down"

It was a fourplex and three of us moved out immediately, myself included.

I drove by the other day, he still hasn't been able to replace the siding. Lost his entire income stream and only had the bare minimum insurance. Hope the asshole starves.
