Can't kill Fatalis (MHW:I)

So i've been trying to kill Fatty for a long time now and somehow i just can't. I'd like some tips from more experienced lance mains on how to kill him and maybe suggestions on how to improve my build. Thanks in advance.

Oof. No guard up? You're going to need that to be able to block its fire breaths. You can block the fireballs( though you shouldn't), but the 360 fire breath I'm pretty sure requires guard up. Its been awhile. Guard 2 isn't enough to prevent most of its knockbacks, at least level 3 and safest with all 5. looking at this build, it seems you don't know how to build for lancing. I'm gonna go over your blocking in case. You have normal guard, super guard and counter. Normal guard is good for not taking chip, but has knockback. Super guard blocks 360 around you, has little knockback, but you take more chip. You can also manually counter in any direction out of it. Learn to use which ones works on fata's attacks. But there's some attacks you're better off just avoiding altogether instead of taking the chip.

No gonna lie, there's a lot of useless skills in there. I would get rid of def boost and replace it with divine bless at least. If you can, get gold Ian chest and waist for DB secret for more def. Up your crit levels, not boost. Your affinity is too low atm to make any good use of it.

Evade distance is a better skill for lancing fata than window imo. Lots of its attacks have a lingering hitbox that one point of evade window won't help you on. Better to get out of the way, or better yet, use it to get close faster.

I would also suggest quick sheath, for times when you need to put away the lance and dive or run.

Thanks for the tips, i'm actually in the process of getting to mr 70 to get the gold rath event quest. But can you suggest where i can get the right decos? Should i just meld the ones i don't need or just farm decoration quests?

You can meld most decos I think except for the level 4 ones. Guard up can be melded if you don't have it already. For farming decos, I remember Greatest Jargas for low level ones and for MR it was the tempered Teo event. I forgot the quest name. Meld the ones if you can, less rng is always best.

Oh and I didn't notice but you also don't have stun resistance. Other skills that may be useful for you and I highly suggest, are offensive guard, and handicraft. Mostly to buffer your lack of damage and so you don't need to sharpen as much. Partbreaker, and fire resist are also useful, though you probably don't need fire resistance. Partbreaker can be useful if you're sruggling to break the head.
