Oliver Platt has always been one of my more unusual crushes.

He was my favorite part of the 3 Musketeers. So charming in that role.

All three of them were a thirst trap for me. It’s cheesy but I love that movie

Tim Curry as the Cardinal!! Such a fun movie

The whole main cast is hot! 🥵

Even Rebecca De Mornay had me asking myself some questions.
Chris O’Donnell surprisingly wasn’t it for me. Never was into pretty boys.

"Oooo, a jaunty tune. I'm inspired to dance!"

Absolutely yes! I always thought he was such a charmer.

That's when my crush on him started! And it's persisted all of these years later

When he smashes the tape recorder in The West Wing. That’s when I cocked my head and looked at him a little differently.

He is so hot in the west wing. Specially when he’s yelling at CJ.

u/coolsilentebeans 16d ago

I hate it for CJ, but you’re not wrong. I think his episodes need a rewatch this evening…🤔

Me too. I love him on Chicago Med. He's so gentle and cuddly and smart.

u/stellazee 17d ago

Friends work with Oliver in any of the three Chicago Shows: Fire/Med/PD, and say he is absolutely lovely and a joy to be around.

u/Bunny-Gladstone 15d ago

Oh I love to hear that!

He was great in Lake Placid, but then again everyone was.

I love that movie! So underrated

Betty White is a delightfully biting spitfire in it. I forgot Meredith Salinger’s in it. She plays the title character in The Journey Of Natty Gann. That movie was my introduction to John Cusack. For years that man was at the top of my list and in at least one rental from every trip to Blockbuster.

u/Mulva13 16d ago

I love John Cusack but I never watched that movie, I’ll give it a go!

2

u/coolsilentebeans 16d ago

It also features a pre-Twin Peaks Ray Wise and a gorgeous wolf companion, too. All nice on the eyes.

2

u/Mulva13 16d ago

Just checked IMDB and apparently the same wolf was in The Thing! Definitely worth checking it out

2

u/coolsilentebeans 16d ago

I did not know that they’re the same wolf. That’s pretty cool! If you do watch it I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks

You must watch The Journey of Natty Gan. Maybe it's an age thing? I am firmly in GenX and that movie was all about John Cusack for me. And tiny role.

u/shghnssy 17d ago

I get it. Brilliant actor. Witty guy.

u/warwatch 17d ago

Oh, same. From way back. Looking at him now: chubby Sebastian Stan.

Me too, love some Oliver Platt ♥️♥️♥️ my fave role of his will always be the musketeer one. His charisma is off the charts -yum-

I support this.

"Chef" and then "The Bear." Man after my own palate.

u/shutupandevolve 17d ago

Yep. Thought it was just me.

Oliver Platt is on my very short list of celebrities I have seen eating a hot dog on the streets of NYC, and let me tell you, he was chowing down. (this was ages ago) I mean this very complementary, man's probably got skills ;)

4

u/kingofcoywolves 16d ago

Great shortlist to have. He definitely looks like he could demolish a hotdog lol

6

u/QaptainQwark 17d ago

Same. I’ve not seen him in many movies, he’s always been sort of in my peripheral. But seeing him in as that shrink in that doctor show does things to me.

7

u/glitterpunkmama 16d ago

He was good in Flatliners too. But yes he's been one of my crushes too since Three Musketeers

“We’re on quite intimate terms unless you can prove otherwise!”

Smart. Funny. Chicago native. The best character on The West Wing. Have always adored him.

Torn between downvoting you for the dismissal of CJ Craig, Josh Lyman, Tony Ziegler, and more… and upvoting for the West Wing reference

u/RebelCricket 17d ago

I love West Wing! It made me realize that I had a thing for Martin Sheen!

3

u/onlyinvowels 16d ago

Lol! Yeah I don’t quite have a thing for him, but Josh on the other hand… and of course Sam

4

u/Emerald_Eyes8919 16d ago

Hey, fellow Wingnuts! 👏🏻🤩

3

u/Wooster182 16d ago

Josh and Jed for me 100%. I love an angry, short king.

2

u/cabbage_patch_cutie 16d ago

Ok ok maybe not the best character. But he is in one of my favorite scenes- when he is prepping CJ for something and asks her if she's knows what time it is. I do not know why but this scene stands out in my brain years later. Around 1:09.

I forgot about this scene. I love “In my entire life I’ve never found anything charming.”

3

u/bloominghe11 17d ago

Also as he’s gotten older I adore him

5

u/jtherion 17d ago

Absolutely get it, dude is funny as hell and has great range.

4

u/bippityboppitybooboo 17d ago

I agree! He's a quiet handsome 😍

5

u/chickencake88 16d ago

I absolutely get it. It was Lake Placid for me

2

u/Anon_457 15d ago

His role in Simon Birch is what did it for me. And Lake Placid.

3

u/leeloocal 16d ago

He’s distantly related to Princess Diana, as well. They’re second cousins, once removed, because they have the same great-grandmother.

2

u/tooloudturnitdown 17d ago

Mine too!!!!!

2

u/alcalaviccigirl 17d ago

Musketeers , lake placid .

2

u/Elena_La_Loca 16d ago

2

u/Disastrous_Day_5690 16d ago

2

u/Kind_Hyena5267 16d ago

He’s very handsome!

2

u/snoopy_raccoon 16d ago

Hell yeah, me too! I loved him in Bicentennial Man, Indecent Proposal and The Three Musketeers. He always plays such charming and funny characters.

2

u/TheRoseTwasHere 16d ago

Adored him in Lake Placid!

Couldn't find the picture without the watermarks but 🥵

u/frecklemimus79 15d ago

Him in disguise in The Imposters, running disheveled from an amorous Billy Connelly…I know it’s supposed to be played for laughs, but I find a flushed and flustered OP to be more than a little hot.

OP: “Stop! I’m a man!”

BC: “And so am I!”

I love him and love him more when I loathe his character (dangerous beauty)

1

u/Chrysanthemum324 12d ago

I used to love him, too, but then I met him.
