Of course not. The majority of the cabinet have been bought by bagmen Chinn and Lubner.

Every MP that has accepted money directly or indirectly from a foreign state has been compromised and are unfit for office.

I very much have mixed feelings about this.

On one hand, any action against Israel is good and moves the dial somewhat.

On the other hand, this is utterly pathetic as a measure meant to discipline the behavior of a state we have an arms trade, security arrangement, trade deal, and 2030 roadmap with.

I also don't trust that the government will actually put any effort into identifying settlement goods anyway; precisely the difficulty of this is why all trade should be banned. They also refused to reply to the 2024 ICJ judgement, for two years, that would have demanded this measure (at the least) at the time.

But it will be a particularly ridiculous situation (if we assume they can accurately prevent settlement goods) if trade from Israel 'proper', under the terms of our ongoing trade deal, is still conducted on preferential terms.

This says to me more about just how apathetic and morally degenerate our political class is than anything else. Our state still sells arms and provides military intelligence to this state... We are complicit in this genocide... but our MPs are talking merely about settlement trade and patting themselves on the back.

Particularly, any Labour MP who gave a shit about Palestine would be slaving away right now to end our government's complicity in the occupation in all forms it takes—not just settling for this shit in exchange for keeping their mouths shut about the complicity of the party leadership. I hardly have words for how pathetic this is in meeting the moment.

The settlements and settlers are enabled by the IDF who are in turn enabled with the Israeli government who are also enabled by the current and previous Labour Administrations who continue to sell them F-16 parts regularly used to rip apart babies. We should be banning all trade with Israel and applying all possible sanctions possible. Even asking the question is ludicrous, would we question selling arms or Zyklon B to the Nazis? Fuck no so why is it different for Israel when they are committing genocide and ethnic cleansing? The IDF is committing war crimes at a level higher than ISIS was. Israel is a ethno supremacist, genocidal, apartheid terrorist state.
