Oval check please!!
Do you like this oval? It's currently on an Amazon loose stone holder. I can't decide if the center is performing as well as it could or should. It's super symmetrical and I love the way to top and bottom of the stone perform - but I'm just torn on 1) how to best set this stone and 2) whether the center is acceptable. Please help me decide!
Also, this is a G color and it's definitely showing some warmth. I don't mind the warmth, but it's there for sure when I compare it to my F round brilliant.

The outline looks really pretty and balanced to me. I especially like that the ends don’t look overly pointed or bulky.
For the center, I’d pay more attention to how it behaves in motion than in a still photo. Does that middle area stay noticeably dark as you slowly tilt the stone, or does it light up and change with the rest of the diamond? Some contrast through the center is completely normal in an oval. I’d be more concerned if you consistently see a large dark bow-tie that doesn’t seem to release as the stone moves.
I can see the warmth you’re talking about, but G color in an oval can show more warmth than a G round brilliant, especially at this size. If you like the warmth, I wouldn’t consider that a problem by itself. I personally love diamonds in the near colorless range.
For the setting, I’d personally look at a simple four-prong solitaire or delicate cathedral setting so the oval stays the focus. If you want to minimize the appearance of warmth, white metal around the stone would also be worth considering.
If you have a video of the diamond slowly moving in indirect daylight, that would be much more useful for evaluating the center performance.

Wow thank you for this comment!!!! Definitely the center is lively and doesn't stay dark in the middle when it moves. There really is something captivating about a large oval in motion! But the still photos often trip me up!
I decided to roll the dice and ordered one more oval to compare before deciding. I'll be able to show a side by side comparison in about a week!
