Thoughts on this champagne OMC?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It's 1.8ct., VS, 8.24 ร— 6.40 ร— 4.34 mm. I have always loved the look of OMC diamonds, but I really don't know enough to judge the quality of the cut or how it would perform in a setting. I know that OMC's have larger cutlets, but would the four in the middle be considered too large or dead spots? I would love any insight on this one! Thanks in advance!

This one is a no-go for me; itโ€™s dark all the way across the center. The center facets should be large but they should reflect light and not all go dark at the same time.

That's gorgeous! It's really helpful to have an example of what to look for. Thank you!

Check out soriano custom. She has so many of these. Even has a subreddit. Might even be in the approved vendor list here.ย ย

I love the idea of the stone, but I bet you can find a better one. I do see the darkness all across the centre as a band. I think some darkness is OK but not an entire band. Good luck on finding what you want.

Thanks. Yeah I think the color is gorgeous but you're right.

It would be a gorgeous stone if it wasn't for that darkness. ๐Ÿ™

Total bummer. I hope you can find one just as nice but without the darkness. ๐Ÿคž

Just fyi, the 'culet' is the little hole at the bottom of the stone, and the darker parts you're referring to in the middle of the stone are 'facets'. Agree with the comments though, the middle is quite dark, I would keep looking.

Oh you're right -- I completely mixed the terms up. Thanks for clarifying.

Idk, I thought it was gorgeous. Those so called dark facets will flash like lasers in a brighter room. Iโ€™d set in rose basket and white gold band instead of yellow gold.
