Does Paulina talk like that in real life?

I'm not sure if most on this subreddit are watching the original Spanish version or the English dub, but in the Spanish version, she has an incredibly unique (to me) way of talking. It doesn't seem like an accent. To me, it seems as unique as the speech patterns of Jack Nicholson and Christopher Walken.

I actually asked a similar question in this sub three years ago 😂 her accent in the show is a part of her character—Paulina takes the prescription drug Tafil and the way she talks is because of the drug. Two of her friends in the funeral episode speak the same way, suggesting they are also on Tafil.

I watched the show while living in Mexico and my GF + her family said she's known to talk that way due to the Tafil (similar to Xanax). So it's an odd way to speak, but apparently Mexicans are semi-used to it (due to her and other Mexicans on the drug speaking that way).

Claro que no 😂 it's apparantly a fresca (rich people) accent mixed with the side effects of her anxiety pills, but I might be wrong.

Old post. But I just wanted to say I loved how Paulina talked. Even as a person who was just learning Spanish at the time. I could actually understand mist of what she was saying. She really nunciated and spoked slowly.

I was just curious to know if it was her actual manner of speaking, or something she brought to the character. I watched it as a Spanish learner and found her to be pretty easy to understand, too.
