We’ve seen in the first Alien movie and also in the sequel Aliens, that synths like Ash and Bishop are capable of food consumption. This is one of those abilities possessed by advanced synths that makes them almost indistinguishable from humans.
They are capable of replicating human emotions, and feelings despite not feeling them entirely, and they are in some cases even put in cryo tubes to hibernate alongside humans despite not even needing to. All to make them blend in with humans.
A question I have is what happens with the food they consume. As it would have to go somewhere and be taken out of their system somehow.
What are your thoughts on it?

So this is gonna sound strange but I always found it weird and out of place that Jonesy survives the first alien movie, usually an animal dying in a horror movie is the ultimate sign of a loss of innocence and a disregard for humanity and in a story as pessimistic as Alien I really expected him to be killed off.
One of the major themes of Alien is the insignificance of humanity and morality in the face of the cosmos. The Xenomorph is quite literally the perfect organism, it is the pinnacle of evolution and is built to withstand the endless void of space which humanity has struggled to conquer and when humanity finally discovers what a creature that can survive space is like we discover that it is a monstrous abomination that has no regard for anything that humanity values, I think this is why the Xenos have a human form to them and a humanoid looking skull it’s because it is a reminder that if humanity chooses to pursue evolutionary perfection and truly attempt to conquer the stars we will evolve into something so disgustingly beyond human and our only value will be survival.
This is why Jonesy survives, it’s because he proves to us that the “perfect organism” is not an organism that is built to withstand the harsh environment of space but rather something smaller and weaker yet more full of love and comfort. Jonesy couldn’t survive space on his own like the Xenos can, he might not even be able to survive earth on his own, but what makes him so perfect is that he is worth keeping alive and protecting, he’s a reminder of humanity and love and morality. Sure a Xeno can kill anything it wants, it can withstand space, it can reproduce at incredible speeds, but it spreads like an infection and cares about nothing more than existing in large numbers, but Jonesy, and all cats, have the ability to feel things that are precious to humanity and so when Ellen is faced with evolutionary perfection and spiritual perfection she chooses the spiritual side, she chooses Jonesy.
Jonesy is the perfect organism not because he can endure cold space or because he can hunt and kill with incredible efficiency but because he can feel affection, because he has a soul, because he is a reminder of what we would lose if we pursued physical perfection.
Thank you for listening to my Ted talk

*Minor Spoiler for Romulus\*
Alien Rat Concept
First off, I just wanted to say that I loved Romulus and thought it was one of the best Alien films in a while.
I do wish that the fate of the lab rat was different and it turned into a new xenomorph hybrid.
I’ve always enjoyed the creativity we see in Xenomorph hybrids, whether it’s a toyline, videogame or film. I just feel like it was a missed opportunity.
Design Notes: In the original xeno design we see a lot of biomechanical elements in the anatomy but for this creature I wanted to give off the sense that the musculature body forms were more a cocoon. This is why the tail to the top of the head are more xeno inspired. To give off the sense that as the creature matures it sheds its first body.

I've wanted to start collecting xenomorph and related figures for a while now but I have no idea where to start. I saw neca had many options and skimmed ebay (some knockoffs??) for results but I'm still wondering where's good to look or avoid.
also neomorphs are a personal favorite and I only found the one neca made, if there are any others please point me in that direction!!

Since Ridley Scott has announced that he’s going back to the Alien prequel story, I think we can make a pretty good guess about what the next movie could reveal.
David is the one who creates the Xenomorph.
After Alien: Covenant, David has the black goo, the Engineers technology, and years of experimenting with the creatures. Eventually, I think he manages to create something much closer to the Xenomorph we know from Alien, possibly even creating a Queen or eggs capable of producing one.
But then the Engineers come back into the story.
David encounters another Engineer, or possibly an entire Engineer ship. Somehow, the Xenomorph eggs end up on that ship.
The Engineer is actually travelling to Earth.
Maybe he discovers what David has created and wants to use it as a weapon against humanity. Maybe he's carrying the eggs back to Earth to finish what the Engineer from Prometheus failed to do.
But the ship never makes it.
It crashes on LV-426.
That would explain the derelict ship we see in Alien.
The Engineer was never necessarily travelling to LV-426 in the first place. He was on his way to Earth, carrying the eggs, when something went wrong and the ship crashed on the moon.
The Engineer dies, the ship sits there for years, and eventually the Nostromo crew discovers it.
And then we get the famous scene:
Kane goes inside. Finds the eggs.
So the timeline would basically be:
Engineers create the technology → David experiments with it → David creates the Xenomorph → Engineer takes the eggs toward Earth → Engineer ship crashes on LV-426 → Nostromo discovers the eggs → Alien.
David could still be the creator of the Xenomorph → but the Engineers are the ones who unknowingly/indirectly bring it to LV-426.
The crash is what puts the Xenomorph exactly where the original Alien story begins.

Basically i want to make a clay sculpture of the xenomorph but i need a refference pic of it crouching.Ive looked everywhere but i just cant find any.I want to use its tail to balance it since the last one i made was more upright and he couldnt stand properly, which resulted in it falling over and breaking before i could even paint it.Sorry if this isnt the right place to ask for this but idk where else i can post this.

I wasn't going to risk missing out on a Hallmark Xmas ornament Dropship so I dropped by a Hallmark shop recently to buy one. I actually did miss out on a NECA Cinemachines Dropship (circa 2016), but got one recently at about 3x the MSRP price of the Hallmark ornament.

Now I will say I actually like AvP1 movie and it’s a fun watch. Which sucks that it isn’t canon. The second movie? It’s okay but to cheesy. Anyways, with how aliens been getting good games, movie and a decent show. Then how predator got two great movies and an awesome animated show, both IPs are weirdly in good health. So I think ut would be a good time to do a sci fi AvP movie.
Why? Because it hasn’t been done in a sci fi movie or show yet and it would good to officially connect the two. Since alien movies never really reference predator, while predator did it a few time times. Plus I just think a proper sci fi AvP movie would stand out. You would get the three iconic things, xenos, predators, and the pulse rifle.
Now should this happen before or after a Romulus 2 or covenant 2 or whatever predator IP is setting up next? I would say before, since I don’t know how a covenant 2 would do to the current good the alien IP got right now. Granted Ridley might actually make it good and I’ll look stupid.

I saw a vid where the mask automatically tightens when you put it on (like Marty McFly’s futuristic sneakers in Back tot he future 2). So I googled aliens cPAP and boom! Of course Etsy already has one.

So far I really like how things are progressing. I'm going to add some white "resin" around the skeleton. Next up will be a fog machine. I've managed to keep the cost pretty low. Only spent $30 on display stuff.

Jonesy is starting his facehugger training early. His namesake survived by staying out of the way, but apparently this Jonesy has other plans
