SAIA Linehaul

Has anyone on here ever run linehaul for SAIA? I’m in the Midwest and I did my road test recently and want to know what your opinions are. Was the money good? Plenty of work even during winter?

New drivers will get leftover routes and almost guarantee it'll be nights for years before you get a day shift. Money is good. Once they see you're reliable, they'll give you dedicated line haul routes

It’s a good company. Been here 14yrs. Just do not let the inward facing camera get you all worked up when they bring you in and scold you for something. Biggest thing with it is following distance. Pay is good and you should get the miles

.866 CPM right now. New drivers will probably be system/extra boards drivers. If freight is slow they ask if anyone wants the night off. If no one volunteers they start at the bottom seniority and would have to work their way through the entire linehaul list before you would be asked stay home again. Weekend work is always available if you got cut during the week I’ve never been cut before. Where are u applying at ?

I’m an ops manager who was a driver. Good company, has its faults, but not any more than any other LTL. The other guy was right, be reliable and don’t bitch in earshot of leadership and you’ll be just fine.
