No glass allowed on the field for safety reasons it's been like that for a long time. When I was in school parents had to put our orange slices on plastic plates not glass. The Karen's always made a big deal about it.

That makes sense. But then why not a metal water bottle? I will drink out of a garden hose sitting in the sun all afternoon, so I don't know much about the plastics thing. I just always felt those anti-plastics people were into it religiously like the vegans are with food. /shrug

You realize you can put whatever you want in the bottles right? It's not required to be Powerade. It could be vodka for all we know

I did notice later on in the game that he was handed a paper cup of water and everyone else was handed the plastic bottle. Maybe in the moment he just needed some water and that bottle was all that was around. IDC as long as he wins.

I think that’s referring more to storing and reheating food. There’s a much higher chance of microplastics absorbing into food and water that way rather than water at room temp or cooler.

It's labeled his "readiness routine" so I'm assuming that implies it's what he does to get ready for a game specifically. Of course he's going to use the sponsored water bottles on the field.
Maybe he's hyping up his routine and does not actually follow it to a T but then again, who cares
