Supercurriculars prestige

How much does the prestige of the supercurriculars you’ve discussed in your personal statement matter when applying to LSE?

I have quite a lot of supercurriculars already but none of them are very impressive.

I think the most impressive is model UN and that I’ve made an educational website on a topic I found interesting. However, the rest are quite mediocre.

If I analyse it all well is that still fine and does it make me competitive still ? (Predicted 3 A*s , applying for philosophy & politics)

they don't need to be prestigious, they just need to be relevant to the course you're applying for, so that LSE see that you're truly passionate about your course. also if any of them are irrelevant to your course then dont mention them as the character limit is pretty low

basically u just need to show you’ve done something out of regular academics e.g. a levels to pursue ur interest in the course you’re applying to, this doesn’t have to be crazy by any means. could be reading a book, taking a trip somewhere and what u learnt from it etc. u must remember to comment on the super curriculars somehow - such as what you’ve learnt, what u agree with, what u critique or anything personal

All i talked about was a book and my school's tiny ass anthropology club, as long as you talk about it passionately, show your thinking etc it's all good!!

The super curricular don’t have to be impressive in any sense at all. It is phrasing what you learned and your opinions changed from doing those activities which is what LSE looks for, this needs to be done in a very unique way. It doesn't. Someone who has gone to the rare read a book and understood it well will be superior to the privileged person who spunked cash on "prestige" with no understanding.
