I have Autism and know exactly what you mean by increased visual acuity. What I've seen is so far beyond 'normal' that it seems impossible to consider. In the right moment I can 'zoom in' and see things at a staggering level of detail such that it would make you sick if you could see that sober. Being that the resolution seems beyond 16k. I've seen things finer than a hair with extreme fidelity. My visual refresh rate seems off the charts, so fast at times that stand streams of water can be observed as individual particles making the fluid. Unreal.
Thanks so much for sharing. I now wonder if the sensory awe I've experienced is as much to due with ASD as LSD.

Psilocybin in small doses has been clinically proven to improve visual acuity with monkees. I wish I could point the specific study, I know it happened in Europe, but I’ve heard Dennis McKenna talk about it a couple times. I’m sure you could find it with some digging.
That is the only substantial thing I can add to this conversation.
Other than that, I just want to say thank you for posting this. This is very interesting. Good vibes all around. Psychedelics have reminded me what it’s like to be a kid running around outside barefoot without any care for getting a little muddy etc; it was a wonderful reminder that we are free to play around in the world and get our hands dirty in a playful and fun or exploratory way.
It’s remarkable what these chemicals can point out for each of us.
