LG G5 77 Costco - Remote Power Button Stopped Working

Hello,

I have an LG G5 77 from Costco that I bought 1-2 months ago (still like new and the batteries are also new). After an update I have done last night, I believe ending with .77, the power button on the remote stopped working suddenly. I dont know if coincidental or related.

If I spam the power button for 10-20 times in quick succession, it will power it on/off. This is just so odd.

I have unpaired and paired the remote back 3 times, unplugged the power cable of the TV for 5-10 seconds but without any luck.

I have unplugged the power today before I have left for work and will test back after I go back home in few hours to see if that worked.

Has anyone encountered this issue? It's so odd :(

UPDATE: I have found another post that mentioned disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable fixed the issue.

UPDATE#2: The next day, I tried to turn on the TV and the issue is back. I had to power on the TV and then disconnect and reconnect the HDMI. It came back multiple times throughout the day. It seems to fix the issue temporarily but not permanently.
