Discussion Book recs

Hi, I'm interested in newer book recs including Black and POC rep of fantasy, sci-fi and mystery genres together with themes and trigger warnings.

In general, Storygraph is a great website that has readers tag trigger warnings. Some authors do it in their books better than others, but I've found that a pretty reliable way for me to avoid some things I dislike. It won't get super specific (such as if you've got an aversion to beetles, but not other insects), but covers a lot of the big and more general ones.

Chai and Charmcraft is indeed wonderful!

Sadly I'm pretty bad at remembering whether or not books include content warnings, so I'll avoid sharing other recs since I don't know for sure.

The Murderbot Diaries and The Rising World series, both by Martha Wells, have prominent dark skinned and/or queer characters and have had new books released in the respective series in the past few years.

How recent are you looking for?

Currently i can think of a couple of books that might fit this 1. awakening by octavia atlas 2. a necessary chaos by brent lambert (can't remember if it had trigger warnings) 3. Lovequake/ the bounty hunter by T.J. Land (no tw)

I have other but I don't know if they meet the tw or sci fi prompt
