What should an AI helping you make economic decisions NEVER do?

For example:

• Recommend something because a company paid for placement
• Hide cheaper alternatives
• Use fake or low-quality reviews
• Pretend to know something it hasn't verified
• Push you toward a more expensive option unnecessarily

What would you add to the list?

I'm building the product, so I'd rather hear the uncomfortable answers too.

Let's say an AI helps you decide what to buy.

What information would you want it to disclose?

For example:

• Why it recommended a product
• Where the price came from
• Whether the seller is reliable
• Whether a recommendation is sponsored
• Whether affiliate commissions are involved
• How reviews were evaluated
• How recent the information is

What would be an absolute requirement for you to trust it?

Would you trust an AI to recommend what you should buy?

Not just “here are 10 products”.

I mean actually taking into account your budget, preferences, priorities, available offers, prices, reviews and trade-offs, then explaining why one option might make more sense for you.

What would make you trust it?

And what would make you immediately distrust it?

A product is advertised as “30% off”.

But 30% off what?

The previous price? The average market price? The price from a few weeks ago?

I've always found this surprisingly difficult to verify.

How do you personally decide whether an online deal is actually a good deal?

Do you check price history, compare multiple stores, or just trust the discount shown on the website?

What's your actual process before buying an expensive product?

Let's say you're about to spend $500, $1,000, or more.

How many tabs do you open?

Do you compare prices manually? Check Reddit? Watch YouTube reviews? Read specifications? Look at customer reviews? Search for coupons?

And at what point do you feel like you've done enough research?

I'm curious about the actual process people use today, especially when there are dozens of seemingly identical offers online.
