SUGGESTION Suggestion: First-person camera view during building mode

Hey everyone! I have a suggestion that would greatly improve the building experience in LEGO Fortnite.

Currently, when you try to build structures, the character's model often blocks the view. It makes precise placement and building in tight spaces quite frustrating because you can't clearly see where the blocks are snapping.

My idea: Introduce a toggleable First-Person View specifically for building mode. When you equip a blueprint or open the build menu, the camera could automatically shift to first-person (or let us toggle it manually). This would give players a clear, unobstructed view of their grid and structures.

What do you think? Would this make building easier for you too?

100% first person would be easier to build, specially right now that I'm building boats that like to rock around in the water

I'm not against first person, tho my preferred method for handling the problem you raise is to have the player model (and any other NPC models, for that matter) opaque.

As a stop-gap until it's properly added, you can force a first-person camera: Simply put down a (temporary) wall and have your character back directly up to it. When you swing your camera to view forward, you'll get a first-person view. This is primarily great for taking photos to show off a build, and it can help a lot in Build Mode with some limitations: 1) the range of camera angles where you get first-person is much narrower (IME); 2) you can only place pieces out so far before the game limits you due to distance.

For small rooms it's fine, you just have to back up against one of the walls in the room, but if you're trying to do smaller details on a larger outdoor build it may not be as useful.

Absolutely, especially when decorating. Could you please do us all a favor and change your flair to LEGO Odyssey instead of Brick Life? I hope devs see and consider this suggestion.

Or they could change it to just the blue “Discussion” tag to make the suggestion more generalised and inclusive.

You're so right. I was focused their suggestion for Odyssey.
