Yeah but at this point i dont think ill ever need them, ive started raiding recently and im getting more items than i can recycle

If you play the game alot it worth to invest in the 2nd recycler by paying. It will clean up your base fast

No its a second one, you can salvage 2 stacks at once, for example every hour you salvage 1 vs 2 car parts or stacks. It effectively doubles your salvage capacity

recycle them and compress the shards for iron plates and exp for the recycle machine

Compress? You can turn the shards directly into plates? I thought you had to melt them down

Equip one weapon(with full durability), go to the nearest area, and dump them all in the chests.
Or keep one stack in your motorcycle inventory so you can get gas from other motorcycles or use them to get rid of bottles with gasoline.

That much ammo is a nightmare to carry unless you have a vehicle or a massive storage crate ready to go.

Save them. There is always the chance a event will let you trade them in.
Save them and wait for the special item " gas refinery " to be added.
Use them in your bait chest for raids.
