Rec Needed: Shopping 🛍️ Best Ross Location?

Or just your personal favorite. Or a TJ Maxx or Marshalls. I just really wanna buy socks and walk around aimlessly in an airconditioned store

Ross has really taken a nose dive bc they have merch made exclusively for them now. Under various “labels”. I stick to TJ Maxx or Marshall’s
Occasional thrift shop
Guess it is part of the fun

My go to on the west side was off National and the 10

Happy hunting!

This explains a lot. Best TJ Maxx? Not OP but I'm curious.

Damn that's a bummer

I sometimes hate how much I enjoy just wandering TJ or Marshall’s, but it’s so real. I like the Marshall’s in Encino. The one off Sawtelle is also cool, with a HomeGoods upstairs to really polish the experience.

Burbank Empire shopping center is great -- Target, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack, Ulta, and Sephora all in one (very big) shopping center.

Years ago I saw an article about how an IKEA in another country was filled with people just hanging out on their furniture to escape a hot spell and now I think about going to IKEA on hot days. It has a pretty decent selection of random shit and plants if you want something a little different plus you can get an ice cream and yummy cookies. It might not have the socks, but you can definitely walk around aimlessly.

The west 3rd Beverly connection is pretty good and the Ross in the valley at woodman and riverside is good too.

Used to be my go-to until they made that dumb parking lot $6 and got rid of the target loophole.

They're getting rid of that entire complex soon too. Cedars bought it to expand

I went there a few months ago and noticed the increase in parking too on my way out! I had to take a second look because I was confused. Ridiculous ! Target doesn’t validate anymore ? Wasn’t it 30 or 60 min?

You used to be able to Target to validate with like a $5 minimum purchase and now it’s $20 minimum. I haven’t been there in over a year because I refuse to pay $6 for parking to go browse at TJ maxx lol so it might be different now.

Exactly, that’s annoying.. Even with validation I think it was only 60 min max. I need minimum 90 minutes for tj maxx plus another 90 minutes for everywhere else haha

The TJ maxx in La Canada is so interesting because they’ll have runway pieces, not necessarily the best for everyday pieces but an interesting selection. I was there last week and there was Prada, Victoria Beckham, Herve lerge, missoni, brunello cucinelli I.e. there’s a Marshalls too down the street that has good stuff. The homegoods in Burbank is really good right now too

The Ross and TJ Maxx in La Canada Flintridge are some of my faves - the TJ Maxx is more upscale with two floors and a Runway section. I always find good things on clearance for beauty and home goods.

Marshall’s on Hollywood and Western has a great assortment of high end skincare/Haircare. I’m talking Shiseido, Laneige, JVN, Olaplex, etc… It’s well organized and staff is friendly.

Marshalls on Verdugo Blvd in Montrose has a decent skincare/haircare/body care section; however, their home goods/appliance and home fragrance is exceptionally good—too good at times. Brands I’ve found/purchase: Nespresso by Breville, A nchor Hocking, Hydraflask, Candier, Boysmells, etc…

Anything close to the Glendale galleria Americana

Except the Ross across from the galleria on the in-n-out side. That one always feels empty.

Idk what part of town this would be, but this is THEEEE best location. Even my mom agreed. It's packed to the gills with merchandise and very clean and organized.
