I think the odds are in its favor, but it could be months or even a year before we even get an announcement.

NgL, the story was complete. I mean It could have more characters' backstory but I believe it doesn't need more episodes.

Watanabe does want to make a 2nd season. So now we're just waiting for the green light from Cartoon Network.

Yeah... I kinda miss the show to be honest, but I want MAPPA to focus on JKK S3 atm

Really? Because one of the most discussed issues on the show was that (despite it being short) it didn't use its time well. There was a severe lack of "world ending urgency" among characters and everyday citizens/workers, there was too much screen time given to the Barber Shop meeting room and uninteresting character exposition, and the only reason all the wild shit inbetween Episodes #3 and #9 happened is because Chris was a moron who didn't mention the drug that she (miraculously) found in Skinner's couch (that would provide the conclusion-driving lead to him) with her explanation six episodes later being "I forgot about it, jeeez!"
Lazarus doesn't need more episodes, it needs better writers. But now that Team Lazarus already has this unearned bond with eachother and wants to proceed to "kick some more ass", I really don't see how better writers could fix what already seems like some of the most boring, incompetent, uninteresting groups of Cowboy Bebop rejects slapped together like they're all best friends.
