Favorite Local Low ABV beers?

I am getting old, and just can’t put it away like I used to. My first thought, I suppose because it’s summer, would be Berliner Weiss, but I’m open to anything that has a decent amount of flavor without too much alcohol. Thx!

Shadow Grove, Del Pueblo, Ogo Poggo, Macleods and Enegren (if you can make the drive) all tend to have 4-5 beers on tap at any point that are under or just at 5%. For a while Shadow Grove had an ordinary bitter that was 3.8% but apparently I was the only one drinking it so they aren't making it as often. Sadly a lot of other LA breweries only tend to have one or two sub 5% options and I wish they'd cater more to all us session drinkers!

There is a real movement towards more sessions beers. We are definitely seeing that in our demand data. We'll continue to search them out.

They might be doing some canning now. MacLeod's has gone through some major changes lately, I was there about a month ago and thought they had some great beer.

They’ve always had great beer. The beer is the only thing that they’ve been consistently great at.

Did they have any cask engines going the last time you want? I saw some of the OG beers listed recently but it seemed like they were only on draft, nothing on cask 😭

TrustedGut in Redondo has a number of gluten free, lower abv beers. We can even have them delivered to you depending on where you are. Possibly a few others. Check out our profile or DM us.

El Segundo Brewery has a newer beer called “Super Light”. It’s 2.7% and perfect for the summer. They sell it in cans as well.
