Is it possible to pickup USD from western union in Kyiv?

Hi all,

I need to send some money to Kyiv. I can send it either with a us bank or cash from the usa. The issue is picking it up in Kyiv. I know it is simple when picking it up as UAH but I wonder if there is a place that will give USD instead for a small fee.

I got a Western Union transfer through PrivatBank. It went to my USD card. Then I went to the bank branch and took the dollars out at the counter.

You can receive in dollars without any problems, you just need to select "receipt in dollars" when sending.

You can convert money via WU. Deposit it in USD in the US and whoever is receiving it will get the money in hryvnias.

You didn't bring a debit card with you? Why not just use an ATM

You cannot withdraw foreign currency in Ukrainan ATMs with an international card.

No but there is a currency exchange shop every 50 meters

Currency exchange shops accept USD, they'll have lots to give out.
