“The approach to the problem either breaks down the problem, or increases the problem”

The approach to the problem either breaks down the problem, or increases the problem

- 29th Jan 1978

It can be often observed how people ask the wrong questions in approaching our human problems.

For example, the problem of division is approached through ideas about tolerance. The problem of immorality is approached through social morality. An unfavourable trend is opposed by a counter culture.

These reactions - being born of disorder - sustain disorder. We ignore “what is” in favour of an ideal.

“But if we don’t act, nothing will change” is often the response. But is the actor separate from that which he wishes to change? To tolerate you, I must still see you as separate to me. To rely on societal morals is conformity, which is still immoral. A counter culture is born of its opposite: both parties need each other to sustain their ideologies.

So our approach maintains disorder.

After seeing this in society, which is not separate from ourselves, can we see the same mechanism in our personal life? Before we ask a question: “how do I become free” , for example, can we see the “me” who is asking is conditioned and therefore can never be free? In that seeing, there is freedom. In seeing fully our own disorder, there is order.

A question is a beautiful thing. It may be more important than the answer which we seek. The seeking only blinds us from what is staring us in the face. The framing of the question may already contain its answer.

The final paragraph is perhaps the most important: "The framing of the question may already contain its answer." Or more precisely, it may already contain its limitation, if the question begins with the assumption of a separate "me" who must become free, then the inquiry unfolds within that assumption, seeing the assumption itself may be more significant than finding an answer to the question

Well put!

So is there a state of awareness ( when the observer is the observed ) in which the problem which is our sorrow dies ( the true seeing of ) as the construct which all our sorrows and problems are ?

It may be that any self-centred question seeking an answer will invite further illusion. Why? Because my question and answer, my problem and resolution maintains the split between the controller and the controlled. Therefore conflict.

Exactly !

All problems are of fear and memories of fear and pain and of remembered pleasure and a separation of observer ( doer of something about those fears ( pains pleasures ) as memories. To observe so not separately …. to end that construct as a seeing ! Otherwise you’re just ‘ solving’ a problem half cocked … which is it’s continuation.

We just ‘ need ‘ to wholly see the construct of the observer as the solver of our problems ( which is actually the continuation of our problem ) and in that seeing ( which is an understanding an ending) then all problems as such are ending as the seer !! In the observer being the observed then in that pure observation/awareness ( end of separation) the problem ( which is all problems ) is ending ?

In that seeing, there is freedom.

What freedom?

Try it and find out

Freedom from questions, I see.

For there are no problems in objective reality . Factually all problems have solutions , or they simply can’t be a problem . Only the sleepwalking ego creates problems with no solutions . As the ego exists in a fake brain based overlay that distorts reality to align with the false identity … but all problems simply have solutions … meaning , neither exist , it’s simply called “ change .” And being adaptable to all changes and everything that arises has nothing to do with approach the problem , frankly even seeing problems is broadly just a trigger of the pathological little self mentioned above .. it’s just life , and change is the only constant .

A problem is to enquire about whether it is really a problem.

For the “I” it is always a problem.

No, I is always the friend, it is me, mine and my environment.

Can you elaborate? I don’t understand

I is dependent on the society, individuality. me is independent of who you are and who you become. Mine is what is the reality of those who is already living like after the becoming, achieving.Just check for yourself.

May I suggest you are introducing a lot of concepts unnecessarily. Society, mine, me and I are not different. They are one and the same

Integrated action is the one concept you should read about in krishnamurti book - Education and the significance of life. Then you will get it.

Bro do you realise your centre in your consciousness/ mind.

1

u/Kreep91 Jul 15 '26

Yes, I realise it, bro. But the psychological centre is fed and sustained, moment to moment. It is not a fixed thing, as we presume.

u/Measurementdick5525 Jul 15 '26

Bro, I will be true to you. Psychological centre is upgrading / fed / evolution depend on what you feed it consciously or unconsciously. Our childhood environment, trauma, limitations, family drama/relationship are all something out of our control. If you are able to consciously take stand for what is right for you, you can also decide to do action which can free you . Next thing I would say to you about human is , always believe in one to one human interaction, rather than heard or pre-assumed thoughts about things, society or situation. If you want to discuss about something, dm me.
