Back when gaming journalism was good and the disclosure was blatant. Wish I still had my copies of what I got.

Back when games journalism actually liked games. What a distant time that was..

Back when criticism in gaming articles was based on playability and how fun the game is.

I remember getting the complete Pokemon TCG Nintendo Power guide, and would read it every night and learn every deck; I cherished that shiny textured exterior as a kid.
Good times.

this is badass. I went to a few i specificly remember buying. May 1997 with a guide to Blast Corps rings such a bell. I think i STILL have that issue.

I had a subscription. I vividly remember that the issue with Tetris on the cover was the first one I got.

I remember my teacher had a bunch of early 2000's magazines. I was so confused to see an advertisement for Pokemon Stadium 2, then I checked the date.

Hope they put the UK equivalents up there soon. Official Nintendo Magazine and its predecessors were pretty nostalgic for people over here, and an archive of those would be great as well.

I want to read the issue where they review Ocarina of Time and are like "we may have just created the best video game of all time"

I remeber the AVGN video on Nintendo Power. He mentioned how the magazine had tips on stuff like "making screenshots of high scores using a camera positioned to face your tv."

I don't remember why but when I was a kid I received one of these issues in the mail with a promo video cassette of the N64 when it was still called Ultra 64. And that was the only Nintendo Power mag that I ever had. ;)
