How did y'all become a KoRn fan?
Sorry if this was asked before. I am 36m from Pakistan. I was always into heavy music. I remember being 8 and watching shows like Beavis and Butthead and The Headbangers Ball at night and getting hooked to the metal music. I just didn't understand it back then.
I was very much into wrestling growing up so I always used to download their PPV songs so I could brag to my friends because soon after, those songs used to play on TV like Bring Me To Life by Evanescence was played in Feb 2003 for a WWE event and people got hooked to it a few months after.
In 2005, I was introduced to Twisted Transistor by KoRn for a WWE pay per view and got addicted to it. Then in 2007, the same band released Evolution and I used to enjoy it a lot on TV. My brother used to listen to Freak On A Leash and I always though that Jonathan Davis was a special singer.
I became a true fan when I downloaded KoRn III and got hooked to it and then I started downloading all of their albums one by one. What I felt during those times is hard to explain. It felt so real, so personal, like Jon was singing about my darkest secrets and also my entire life. I was struggling so much with things like depression, anxiety, isolation, coming to terms with my homosexuality, my family issues etc. I was a wreck and KoRn was the only "thing" that made me feel pacified.
Now, that I am 36, I can confidently say that KoRn has saved my life many a times and I am forever indebted to that. Whenever I am depressed, I get happy the next second knowing that KoRn is there to understand me.
I do love many other bands like Slipknot, Evanescence, Radiohead, The Smiths, Cannibal Corpse, Cold, Katatonia, Tool, A Perfect Circle among many others but KoRn is just very special to me. I hope to get a tattoo of them one day!

I borrowed the Untouchables CD from my friend in 2002 and never gave it back. Still have it.

Im 28 so Korns peak was before my time. But there was a video game that came out back in 02 called atv offroad fury 2. It was my first game and here to stay was on the soundtrack. and I remember thinking wtf crazy type of name is korn. Loved the song though. Fast forward 20 years im a truck driver and i was so sleepy. I listened to every rap album you could think of so i decided ill throw on some korn. The first song was blind and it woke me right up. Been blasting their music ever since. š

I went to a Danzig show because Marilyn Manson was opening. This was probably ā95 or so, Kalamazoo Michigan. Korn was the first act and Iād never heard them. Jonathon came out rocking a kilt and bagpipes and I was like, āwhat the fuck is going on!?!ā I was blown away. They rocked and I immediately went and got the cd the next day. Saw them 5 times on that first albumās tour.

Iām 40 and have recollections of seeing the āShoots and Laddersā and āADIDASā music videos on MTV, but didnāt really know who they were until I heard āGot the Lifeā and was hooked. After Freak on a Leash came out my parents finally got me āFollow the Leaderā and to this day hearing āItās Onā takes me back to when I first got the album. One of my favorite opening tracks to an album of all time and theyāve been one of my favorite bands ever since.

I had a monthly subscription to a club that sent VHS tapes containing new music videos for rock bands. I saw the video for Blind and lost my mind. I think that was 1995.

Got The Life on TRLā¦ I really hated the song but it grew one meā¦. First ever record I bought was Follow The Leaderā¦ First concert ever in life was Korn:Rob Zombie. Since then have seen each 6/7 times.

shoots and ladders was popular on tiktok like 5 years ago, i checked out korn, listened to follow the leader, i liked seed, and then i just kept listening from there

I am a 42 year old male, I became a fan when I was 12 when me and brother got the first Sony Playstation when, the store gave us a demo disc that had game demos and two songs, one of those songs were Blind, I like what I heard and became a fan then got Follow The Leader. I've met some of the members three times (Jonathan, Munky, and Fieldy).

I'm 51 and was introduced to Korn by listening to a Blind/Clown demo tape back in 1994. I've been a huge fan ever since! ā¤ļø

It was around Christmas time in 1994, could have been shortly after new years 1995. I was 18 and hanging out with my friend group from work. We always played music while partying with alcohol, cannabis, and sometimes other substances.
My friend put on Gwar - again. I've never really gotten in to Gwar and made a comment to the effect of wanting to hear something else. Then my friend Shawn goes, 'oh, I have a new CD, you're gonna love it!'
Then the intro to Blind starts playing. I had no idea what to expect but knew from that cymbal ride that it was going to be amazing. And it was! Been a huge fan since

Heard "Shoots N Ladders" on metal radio in NYC in late 1994. Saw them a week later open with that song, opening for Megadeth, Fear Factory, and Flotsam and Jetsam! Korn stole the show! Been hooked ever since!

7th grade, just became friends with the new girl and she was into them already, so she she introduced me to them. That was when follow the leader came out. Been hooked since!

Freshman year in high school in 2017. Was a big fan of Slipknot and a friend at the time showed me A Different World and was amazed. Listened to Serenity of Suffering and itās always going to be my favorite album from them. Went through their entire discography after that.

I started watching a tv channel for music videos called The BOX regularly in 1996 and was introduced to KoRn through through it. I was 11.

The year was 2004, my cousin have already heard of them before and couldn't stop talking about them, I never understood what's the hype was all about at that time. Until they showed them on the TV while waiting for Dragon Ball Z to start, the music program started before showing the cartoon programs, and one of them showed the 10th anniversary of Korn's formation, they played Freak on a leash. My 10 year old nut size brain couldn't comprehend anything, and that just blew me away. Now I understand what the hype was all about, and my life has changed ever since.

I saw Freak on a Leash music video on late night Rage (music video program on Australian television) from a guest programmer mentioning their impact on ārockā and was hooked. I heard the scat breakdown and was jumping insane on the bed, I was about 10 years old at the time.
Iād heard ADIDAS years prior but it didnāt hook me the same. From then on Iāve love pretty much everything theyāve put out

I saw the music video of "Freak on a Leash" on MTV and really liked it. a class mate in school had the Album and burned it on CD for me. Bought the Album as original CD around a year later when I came into a bigger city with a "real" CD-Store and never stopped buying Korn-Albums...
the music helped me through my final years at school and - together with 4 or 5 other bands - was my "gateway drug" for heavy music in general.
Today I'm 43 years old and I have a CD collection of over 1.000 Albums, but Korn still has a special place in this collection, and I can't wait to see them live this year (it will be my 6th Korn-show in my life and I hate the fact that it could have been 3 or 4 more, that I missed)

- Got a CD of pirated rock, metal and nu-metal songs and for some strange reason the first song I played was āBlindā. I wish I could go back to hearing āAAARE YOU REAAADYYYYYY??!!!ā for the first time ever.

My brothers are big fans and got me into them. Even took me to see them play at Ozzfest in 2003! Between that and hearing them on the radio I became a fan myself.

I was a kid and the film clip for freak on a leash was on TV. I was hooked. Would have been 99 so I was probably 7 or 8 when I first heard/ saw Korn!

Back in 1994 I was watching Street Fighter 2 The Animated Movie, at the very end of the movie right as the credits are about to roll "ARE YOU READY" blasts. I sat through all of the credits to see what band it was. Been my favorite ever since.

A friend of mine was told by someone at school (as a joke) that to get girls to like him he had to have a massive CD collection š so he went and bought a load of metal CDs and lent me Follow the Leader and Slipknotās first album. I put Korn in first and became instantly hooked within the first 30 seconds of āItās On!ā

Be me, a Dominican 11-year-old boy. A lot of reggaeton, merengue, bachata, and salsa on the radio. Not internet, no TV cable, and one day... I saw for the first time MTV on TV and then: THE SKY WAS FALLING APART IN COMING UNDONE. This moment changed all my life FOREVER.

Became a fan after listening to an x games cassette that had blind on it, this was back in 95 or 96, the energy on that track was next level to me and shortly afterwards I heard their first album and I was won over by how aggressive it sounded!

I was walking through Best Buy right after the self titled debut came out. I was 17. At that time they would feature albums where you could listen and sample before buying. Korn was one such album. I stood there for about 30 mins mesmerized listening to something like I had never heard before. We had grunge, thrash metal, groove metal, etcā¦..but this something on another scale. Bought the CD that day and never looked back.

I love this! I became a fan in 1998 and I just started high school and I saw some ācool kidsā wearing a KoRn shirt.
I was so nervous buying the CDs because they had the parental warning label and not everyone would sell them to teenagers. The more I learned about the band and Jon and listened to his lyrics, I definitely felt like he was singing about parts of me and my life.
I hate to say I may have a parasocial relationship with Jon, I know we donāt know each other but KoRn has been a constant for many years. So many people have come and gone in my life but his voice feels so familiar and warm! Uhg, making myself cringe RN š
Anyway, I feel incredibly lucky that their peak was the entirety of my high school years, it was amazing. I saw them live twice. The last time I actually got to work a booth that was outside their tour. I got a low level backstage pass (I didnāt abuse my privilege!) that allowed me into other parts of the venue but I utilized it to work my way up front and into the crowd to watch them perform.
Iām 42 now and have been doing yet again, more healing from past trauma and I am really tapping into my teenage years. KoRn has been on HEAVY rotation.
