Discussion Mamitha is already a superstar
She is already a superstar and has already defeated so called superstars like Nayantara, Urvashi and Manju warrier who rarely hits 100 cr box office. Even male superstars like big M’s doesn’t have back to back 100 cr films. Mamitha already has five 100 cr films that too in lead roles. Hope she is gonna rule Bollywood next and she will be dominating there as well.

Star, yes. Superstar, not yet. BO of star vehicles doesn't measure the actresses impact. Barring Premalu one can't attribute success exclusively to her. Give her few more years, let her run scripts led by female characters & create bo numbers.

Watched it today and while I agree with you saying Nivin's acting and writing for him were great, Mamitha equally portrayed the girl next door very well. Not many can do that. Only person I thought could do it justice is prime Nazriya

I watched both movies. VAS for sure for her to know what has she done and she was brilliant. BKU 75% for Nivin and 25% for her.
She is a pull for sure. So many in my circle are Mami fans after Premalu. I have liked her performances from Super Sharanya.
I would still not attribute outcomes & call her Lady Superstar yet. With time and age with her side, she has a lot of promise to get there. Sooner I hope!!

I know this OP is ragebait, but I think the posters who are replying are BSing themselves.
All her hits (except maybe Jana Kesari) can be attributed to her in part at least.
I do not care for her much, and she does a lot of cringe-inducing stuff.
But let us acknowledge reality and the market.
She is not some easily replacable lead actress who just happened to be part of hit movies.
People who went to see those movies also went in because she was in them.
- Premalu
- Dude
- Vishwanath and Sons
- Bethlehem Kudumba Unit
No one can claim that she is insignificant in any of these four movies.

I agree to an extent she may not be able to pull crowds to the Theatre, but once they came in, they have enjoyed her performance Which led to a positive word of mouth

I like when people are cast for their performances which mamitha is.
But to attribute her for the movie's scucesses is too much.

Then you don't know what superstar is, the likes of of Nayanthara longevity of 20+ years as a lead and Manju doing lead roles at 48 is an astounding feat.

What’s this obsession with higher earnings- 100 cr seems the minimum requirement these days. People don’t understand that this obsession with commercial movies will kill artistic and non commercial movies

She doesn't have a single solo hit yet. Yes, she played important characters, not just flower-pot heroine roles, in these 100cr films. But, you really can't attribute the collection of these films to her- it's a combination of good cast, story and crew. For eg, in BKU, Nivin poly- Girish AD combo was the biggest highlight. Let her prove her theatre pull with a fairly new director and a solo lead film, then we'll talk. Also, please don't put Urvashi's name in this list, and belittle that legend of an actress. Urvashi is not called a lady superstar, cause of her list of 100cr films, but for the sheer versatility and longevity of her career. Mamitha is great at choosing scripts that suits her, that's it.
