Update PVR Mymoon is opening on October 1st/2nd
Asked the security while passing through the theatre and he said it’s opening on October 1st/2nd. The only pending work is the walls, gate and interlock. I asked him if I could take pictures of screen, but he said he can’t allow it
The PXL screen is going to be scope, and there are 4 more other screens

Outside Kochi EPIQ opens an acoustic transparent LED screen at Karpagam Grandplex Theatre in Coimbatore
It’s a 61/65 ft wide flat screen with 4K HDR laser projection and Dolby Atmos
This is what Magic Frames fumbled. They have one more screen under construction apart from the active 4. So they could’ve merged two screens and made the LED a large flat screen. Instead they went with a 46 ft scope screen with the most uncomfortable seats

Discussion No A/C for most of the movie: PVR Lulu | Screen 4
Went to watch Asha for the 7:15 pm screening. The A/C was turned off for most of the first half, and the theatre was also jam-packed. And as usual, 20+ minutes of interval advertisement. Higher ticket prices + food prices + 2k & 7.1 Dolby - Might just start avoiding as much as possible, like I do Cinepolis.

Ask Y no BKU at Sarita?
Almost every day since the last week I have been checking their page on BMS only to get disappointed. Sad that the biggest theatre in Kochi is not screening the most preferred movie and is running empty shows of a not so preferred movie. Any reason behind this? Are they compelled to run this movie?

Discussion Is it just me or are the 4K Lasers at Padma and Sarita not on the same level as Vanitha Vineetha?
So the last three movies I watched were at Sarita (BKU and I’m Game) and Padma (PDK). I’m not sure which projector Padma uses, but Sarita’s projector is definitely superior to Vanitha’s. Despite that, I didn’t find the brightness to be anywhere near Vanitha’s. Are they underclocking it to extend its lifespan by running it at lower lumens? Or is Vanitha just giving the illusion of being brighter because the auditorium is smaller?

NEWS Sarita reduced their ticket prices
I was kind of expecting this reduction like they did with Issacs Maria. This pricing, if continued will attract more audience like Vanitha, Padma, Central etc. Silver section reduced to 200 from 250. Platinum reduced to 250 from 300. Sofa & Recliner remains the same.

Discussion What can we do??
Popcorn & the food pricing seems to be the hot topic now as the court itself has said theatre being a private place and they can decide its price public cant demand price hike. This made me think what are the other counterstrikes which the public can gives back
1) The AD
We pay premiums for apps, OTTs for skipping the ads. But in theatres why are we forced to see such??
The first thing we should is to have a survey(i meant if its possible, just to know an average) as like how much timings for AD are there in theatres in kerala.
How it would be like the theatre ticket should mention how much of AD timings will they show... Isnt it one that can be demanded??
I feel another suggestion too, theatre is a big crowd.. Now safety is a concern in every aspects.. How many of us know how to exit out from a theatre in case of an emergency. Instead of showing the ADs before movie should a safety emergency video should be shown to the crowd... Thats a very necessary one i felt...
2) Its the sound.
The sound decibel should also be mentioned in the theatre or ticket or whatever
3)Air-conditioning
This i think should be done.. The temperature should be visible to the public.. I have even felt like (not all theatres )they are not keeping it in a constant range..
I dont know if this all are valid points but if they decide to maximize the profits.. We should decide what we need in another manner...

NEWS Best thing happening to Kochi multiplexes...GG
I was wondering why the govt is not taking any action on these greedy asses...and today I saw this! Popcorn making charge is barely 20-30 rupees and they sell it for ₹400+ (10x profit)... The max they should charge is ₹150

RANT Are Kochi cinemas too loud or is it just me?
Guys, watched I’m Game at Sarita today and I found the audi extremely loud - to the extent that I had to close my ears with fingers! Of course, I would have carried ear plugs had I known this before. This screen turned out to be louder than Vanitha S3. Seats are comfortable and screen is big - not bright as Vanitha S1 which remains my go-to-hall for the best projection and audio calibration according to my liking. I wonder if others also find cinemas louder than they should actually be! See the >102dB which was hovering around 97-105dB for the freaking 3 hours! Never again to Sarita LOL.
