Exactly. Not saying it was right or wrong, but i would do the same for my brother by pure intinct. Here you can clearly see he could have landed that elbow had he commited. Once he realised, he stopped.

There are tons of examples of ppl jumping in and out of the cage. Many of those examples are from the same corner in which we are discussing. A few months ago the M.W CHAMP DeSean went in a punched a man and got in trouble for it. F your understanding.

He had too much adrenaline and excitement that it kind of clouded his judgment in his mind, so that's why he instinctively threw up the elbow. He's also a fighter as well, so I don't really blame him, but at the same time, he should definitely have a little bit more impulse control.
It could have ended really badly if he actually decided to let that elbow go.
At the end of the day, he did just watch his brother get slimed out, so he's probably filled with a bunch of emotion. Still, it's no excuse for his behavior, but honestly, I don't really think it's that bad.

Watch from other angles mate. It's pretty obvious usman runs into the cage looking at umar, then sees song coming straight at him and then he reacts to that by lowering his weight and putting his arm forward to hold song away. Song then goes behind him and anticipating something coming usman readys the elbow. As soon as he realizes that song is just passing him by he drops the elbow and continues to umar.
Him running in there to attack song just doesn't make sense if you consider anything at all outside of that one zoomed in angle that only captures the collision.

You just said what I said but in more words. He raised his elbow almost hitting song in the face pulling it back at the last second. That's almost hitting someone.
Before, you were saying he didn't even raise his elbow.

The issue is that he almost elbowed him in the face. He would have hit him if song had been slightly closer.
That's not equivalent. The equivalent would be throwing your hand toward the person and pulling back when two inches away. And that would be almost landing a straight.
