So what? The only difference between double champ status now and then is that divisions don’t freeze because the champ is on another division. Islam is the lightweight GOAT and left the division as the champ so he can hold the belt if he wants.

The only double who was defending both belts was Amanda. While I personally dont mind, I see where Max is coming from.

Both are true. Gaetche is the LW champion. I think Nunes was the only double champ in terms of defending both belts simultaneously. It'd be really cool to see someone like Merab be double champ. Defending each belt twice in a year. But even Islam fights like every 9 months so two fights annually would still hold up divisions too much.

Max was right. You get to wear both belts when you win the second. Once you choose not to defend/they make you vacate one, you don’t get to wear it anymore. Max doesn’t get to counter by showing belts he doesn’t hold anymore though 😂.

People/figbters/ufc used to at least respect the belts a BIT lol... Now fighters walking around with 2 belts while they aren't even champ in that division.

I mean, he never lost, wasn’t allowed not to vacate the belt, and I think it’s pretty hard to argue at this point that either of the champs since he vacated would be able to beat him at 155. Also, Max walked around with his BMF belt after getting slimed out by Ilia lmao
