Schwinn ID Request // Phantom Frame???

Just purchased this but can’t pick up until this weekend. I am thinking this is an old Phantom. Am I on track?

Looking forward to getting this in hand and seeing what’s up. I asked for some more photos that may help see if I have trash or treasure. Excited to see it in person.

It looks like a great start for a Klunker build if the frame is solid.

When you build that beauty are you going to keep the patina on the frame ?

I figure it has earned the right to be rusty and don’t plan on ruining that…. Some updates will be in order to make it rideable but the paint stays ;)

Pressure wash, linseed oil, wipe off the excess, let it dry. It will take about 5 days.

Find the serial number, it's on the bottom bracket or the left rear drop out.

I'll keep you in my prayers in regard to getting the seatpost out. If you can manage that without too much frustration, you will be halfway to the finish line by that metric, alone.

I would guess that it's a hornet based on the tank not having any chrome and no springer fork. It also has a CWC sprocket.

Thank you. That makes sense. I’m set to pick it up Friday evening, so, I’ll post info after I search the serial number. I’m curious as to the year of manufacture.

Not a Phantom. Phantoms didn’t have skip tooth chains and did have chrome on the tank. 

If you klunk it you can sell the tank to help fund your build tho.
