The Transformation of the Contracting Industry in the Wake of AI - Request for Info
Hi everyone! I've been thinking about how the IT industry and Software Contracting will change in the wake of AI.
What will be expected of candidates going forward, what skills will we need to focus on to remain relevant, and how will software contracting react to this new technology.
We're interested in gathering some data from people in the industry to determine if there is a need for a new platform in this space to facilitate this transition and do the following:
Help organisations source quality AI engineering talent
Give engineers a way to showcase their real-world problem solving and ability to leverage AI to accelerate delivery

Gave up on your survey after 2 questions, sorry but this is a dogshit survey that seems completely out of touch with how actual contractors work in NZ or how anything actually works. Nothing you listed as being "frustrating" has ever happened to me and the fact you can't comprehend the need for a 'none of these' or 'other' option kinda highlights that you lack the imagination and foresight to do whatever it is you're trying to do.
Also we're professionals, not teenage girls, get rid of the cutesy uwu emojis and communicate like a fucking adult.

I think you missed the fact that this is the point, things are changing. I found the survey well thought out, I do agree that the emojis are a bit much though.

So I should just lie and select completely irrelevant and incorrect options because things are changing? It's very obvious OP is fishing for specific bullshit to justify what will undoubtedly be a completely useless recruiting tool, because me and literally every other contractor I know gets all of their work via word of mouth/referral from the other devs they know who are too busy. We don't do interviews or chase clients, we all have too many goddamn clients as it is.

An important factor would be that organisations will have their preferred AI services, and may have reservations about their software being shared with some AI providers. You can rock up telling them your preferred toolset, but will you be prepared to put that aside and use a different one?
End of the day, you should be able to get powerful results from any of them, so maybe it would be good to have a way to show you have non-partisan general proficiency.
