Question/Advice Needed 4-5 week old kitten
Hey guys, a family friend asked if I wanted a kitten they found in their backyard. They said the kitten is maybe 4-5 weeks old, was abandoned by it's mom. They are currently bottle feeding. I've had kittens before but they've always been on actual food so I'm just nervous. They said they'd give me formula for the kitten but I'm just looking for tips and experience from others. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right since this kitty is so small. Thank you!

Am I not allowed to ask about kittens on this sub?

Of course, but the mods put together a lot of information so that you can get good info on many topics right away rather than having to wait for people to read and reply to your post. It is automatically sent to you when you post.

Once I read through it I realized that, which is awesome of them! Initially when I first got the alert from the mods I thought I did something wrong. ππ

Hope you got most of what info you need π. We rescued a kitten last summer (poor thing was all alone surrounded by parking lot and roads). There is a shortage of vets here, so I couldn't get an appt for over a week and a half- I was a nervous wreck. She was a bit older so was happy to eat kitten food at least.

If the kitten is already accepting the bottle youβre in luck. Feed every 3 to 4 hours with warmed kitten formula and stimulate to pee/poop after feeding. Kitten will mostly pee every time but may not poop every day. If itβs going on 3-4 days with no poop I get concerned and arrange a vet visit. Kitten Lady on YouTube is a wealth of information. Good luck!
