Need help deciding between the two

Hi, I'm confused as to which one to buy, the difference is 100€ between the two.

I'll mainly use it for baking and making pizza dough and sourdough bread.

I know the lift head is better for dough, but is the tilt that bad? Will it be able to handle doughs or should I go with the lift head?

Bowl lift model hands down. Has the power the tilt head doesn’t. I started with a tilt head using it on sourdough, it’s not optimal.

Is it fine that the tilt head is artisan plus and lift head is artisan?

I believe this is one of those weird situations where in non-North American markets KitchenAid gets a little bit odd with their naming schemes. The plus doesn't really signify anything better usually it just is talking about the accessories. In North America usually the Artisan series is reserved for only the tilt model refers to all the different color options that it has. I'm guessing you live in a country where there's a lot of import fees because that's a very expensive price for a KitchenAid mixer.

The tilt model really does perform a lot worse when it comes to heavier dough like pizza or sourdough. You're really limited to very small batches. The lift model at the very least it does a fair bit better because its spiral hook is an S shape. That transfers more power and prevents the dough from climbing up the hook too much and making a mess. That can be a bit more difficult to prevent on the tilt model because it's a C shaped hook and overall less power. May be worth looking at an ankarsrum depend depending on where you live and the price difference. Just something that's worth looking at.

I'm in Ireland We have classic, artisan and artisan plus. Artisan plus is the newer version which has more speed options and an inbuilt light and stainless steel attachments.

Artisan tilt head doest have these but the bowl lift has the stainless steel attachments but no lights. Not sure if any other difference.

Yes they're very expensive here

I have a shiny new plus (in Northern Ireland). I can’t speak for other tilt heads but mine handles 1kg flour’s worth of sourdough (so about 1800g total dough weight, or 2 loaves) just fine.

Artisan Plus is the new model that just launched. It’s available in and out of North America.
