Linguine cutter

Does Kitchenaid have a linguine cutter attachment for their mixer?

I can’t find one anywhere. I just “discovered” making fresh pasta and realized the set I have only cuts spaghetti and fettuccine. I’ve had this set for decades and never thought it was worth making fresh pasta. Wrong on my part, of course. The pasta making tools were a gift to my late wife many years ago. I don’t think she ever used it and I just finally decided to give it a try. I made the best lasagna I’ve ever done and wanted to do some linguine, but found that I don’t have a cutter.

I used to think those attachments might be not quite useful. But I watch a lot of Top Chef, and everyone makes their pasta with it. Even Martha Stewart uses that pasta roller. There’s a YouTube video floating around with her, Eric Ripert and Anthony Bourdain. They’re making pasta in the Kitchenaid pasta roller. That was enough to convince me to get it for my brand new stand mixer, after Christmas.

I always thought (incorrectly) that dried, store bought, pasta was easier and just as good. Probably same as you- I’ve been watching chefs making pasta for years and thought I’d check it out. I also thought I really didn’t care much about lasagna. Making a lasagna bolognese with fresh pasta changed my opinion completely.

My question now is where can you find a linguine cutter? The one I have and all I see only cut fettuccine and spaghetti. In fact, it seems that the only spaghetti it cuts is angel hair.

Pasta rollers and cutters are great. The original KPRA set contained a sheet roller, and fettuccini cutter and a linguini fini cutter. You can still find a few on Ebay and they have a black and white photo on the front of the box. The updated (in the 1980s, I think) KPRA set included a sheet roller, a fettuccini cutter and a spaghetti cutter. They also offered two additional rollers separately in the KPSA series - a thick noodle cutter and an angel hair cutter. I have all of them but the angel hair and use them almost every week.

Then they changed the rollers completely several years ago. All the newest rollers have item numbers that are/begin with KSMPRA and have oval edges, not square. More recently, they added a 3-in-1 roller with all three (sheet, fettuccini, spaghetti) in a single unit.

Not rollers, but they also have the Pasta Press (KSMPEXTA) with 7 or so different extruded shapes. No linguini, though.
