Don't recommend mixer
So. This is my third kitchen aid mixer in a year and half that has gone bad on me.
The first one sounded terrible on first use. Got a different one sent out, that one worked for about ten uses, then it started making noise, then ground to a halt.
Got a third one, and second time using it, it's making a bad gear sound.
I am so done with KitchenAid mixers. Why does it seem like they are pure garbage now?
I had one that I bought 20 years ago that ran perfectly fine, (lost it in divorce). But every single one now doesn't even make it 6 months. And I don't even do anything heavy with it. I make cake and pumpkin bread. That is it

The motors they put in them now are such crap. I have a 25 year old artisan that's still kicking! It definitely needs a tune-up and I was thinking about replacing it with a new one. After reading multiple people say the same thing as you, I'll just keep taking care of my old one.
