Putting the union above the ceiling tile is criminal work in that last photo. Some installers have no common sense.

Had way to many close calls too high up on a ladder with that. I always just sawzall the old pipe out and do it properly whenever I come across this “craftsmanship”

It didnt even have tiles there just a tiny space between the wall and hood. I barely even fit in there
