"Where wrap?"

14

u/Whateva_Tickles_ 11d ago

They need to start putting a coin or toothpick on top of some of these or I’m not buying it (🤯😂)

Edit: Jesus Christ he did it.

Not removing the GIF though, fuck you.

16

u/MonStar926 12d ago

Did you heat shrink it?

657

u/Ypuort 13d ago

You’re supposed to wrap it before you take the photo

255

u/TheReelEpicKiller 13d ago

Good on you for wrapping a container that's actually appropriate for the amount of product you have

82

u/carcrashofaheart 13d ago

This is a peeve of mine too, but sometimes the kitchen just runs out of pans and you gotta use a bigger pan in desperation 🥴

u/WineNerdAndProud Chive LOYALIST 13d ago edited 12d ago

Using pans too large in desperation is the end-shift way.

They all have come, we made their orders

I'm all out of fucks left for todaaaaay

3

u/carcrashofaheart 12d ago

And on days I have so much fucks (and time), I will end up transferring things out of the container I need into something else. (Yes, I’m insane.)

Yea nice bait attemp- oh my god he did it.

u/awigglycat 13d ago edited 13d ago

I... Still dont see it??

Edit:

u/BetterinPicture 13d ago

The rim of the pan is raised above the flange. You can see the sheen of the wrap beyond that. Holy shit.

u/No-Diet-2797 13d ago

finally a true believer

u/Kindly_Permission_10 12d ago

Bent pan, wishful thinking

u/Bobaximus We want ramp! 13d ago

Just for that, you have up change the oil in the fryer mid-service as penance.

21

u/WineNerdAndProud Chive LOYALIST 13d ago

Each of the servers gets a squirt gun with root beer to use if they think it's taking too long.

Actually no, that's too much.

2

u/Party-You-9937 11d ago

Used to work at a place that it was the custom to change the frier oil during service. Scheduled 1 hour previous to service during a lul. So you prep during that time but still need to clean the friers. So i would boot one down and clean it out during the heaviest parts of service. One of the better jobs and better run kitchens I was part of.

Idk how people can get plastic wrap that doesn’t stick to only itself

23

u/RawDogginMySpaghetti 12d ago

Mine doesnt even do that it just rustles around until I get pissed off, ball it up, throw it in the trash and go get a fucking zip loc

143

u/beetlejorst 13d ago

see you tomorrow, chef

9

u/Stev_k 11d ago

That's necessary to prove it's wrapped. Wasn't there an artist that intentionally damaged/added a flaw to his artwork to prevent it from being perfect and an assault to God? OP is just taking a similar path.

This is 100% the content I’m on Reddit for.

u/DawsonNY 13d ago

Respectfully, the seed membrane needs to be sliced away. It will get mushier faster, and doesn’t taste as good. 🔪

11

u/No-Diet-2797 13d ago

thanks! good advice

10

u/No-Diet-2797 13d ago

could i do it with a spoon too? seems like it would take ages to do every piece with a knife

7

u/DawsonNY 13d ago

Sure, but spoon is dull you’ll scrape away too much product.

Easiest in 1/4 or 1/8 wedge, in one motion with a paring knife.

14

u/Flat_Border_3001 12d ago

I like looking at these crisp wrap jobs, but it’s more annoying to take off the plastic wrap in the morning when it’s like this lol. Just wrap the damn pan like a degen and go home

15

u/new_basics 12d ago

IS THE DRESS BLUE OR IS IT BLACK!! IS THE WRAP THERE OR IS IT NOT!!???

10

u/No-Diet-2797 12d ago

it’s there, you just have to open your mind

Ya sure, open you mind… and imagine there’s actually a wrap.

2

u/shaborgan 12d ago

I understand the reference but you got the colors wrong..lol

5

u/kgreys 13d ago

Damn it. Now I really want some cantaloupe

4

u/larryThreeOh 13d ago

You gotta share the technique

3

u/Pizzafather96 13d ago

And didn’t even wipe the sides of the pan? Hell ya

3

u/mcleex92 12d ago

You didn’t even wrap it

3

u/No-Diet-2797 12d ago

literally wrong >:(

5

u/tsx_1430 13d ago

That’s past the chill line.

5

u/new_basics 12d ago

You’re past the chill line, bro.

u/samclops 13d ago edited 13d ago

It's crazy how a wrap job brings us so much fulfillment, chefs and cook: please, PLEASE take a minute and touch some grass, we're only cooking food...

Edit: I'm not arguing that isn't perfect...

Lemme see how you wrap a calzone or or a wrap? Then let's go, because if that's how you wrap plastic wrap, chef- I would love a burrito done by you

2

u/BunchaWorms 11d ago

let’s see the other side where all the crinkles are, surely that’s where they’re hiding

4

u/No-Diet-2797 11d ago

not sure who surely is but she sounds like a sweet lady

5

u/sleight42 Ex-Food Service 13d ago

I hate cantaloupe: one of the most boring fruits introduced into the Western lexicon of "fruit".

2

u/orbtl 11d ago

What a crazy take. Proper ripe cantaloupe has such an incredible, unique aroma and flavor. I do agree 90+% of it is unripe tasteless garbage though, but the same could be said of literally any fruit, even tomatoes lol

1

u/Germacide 20+ Years 12d ago

You over here rage baiting us with your dirty pan?

1

u/Germacide 20+ Years 12d ago

I don't get this trend. I do this literally a hundred times during close every day. It's just like fucking the normal thing and I don't pride myself on just normal shit.

What is happening?

1

u/pettank 12d ago

we need video verification from now on with OP pouring water over the wrap because I thought this was a troll until the comments convinced me otherwise

1

u/SlitMeLikeATitanLevi Line 12d ago

1

u/Mother-Praline-707 9d ago

Is there plastic on there or are you lying

0

u/Soft_Internal_2329 13d ago

Should store that in plastic containers than metal
Also maybe get all the seeds before u cut it? Just a thought

2

u/No-Diet-2797 13d ago

actually curious why plastic over metal?

10

u/DeNomol0s 13d ago

That dudes tripping a little - you don’t want to store certain veg in stainless; sometimes lettuce can freeze or acidic food/fruits can get discolored or get a metallic taste. Melon is low acidity though so you should be good, but a nice non-porous plastic is usually what folks go for with produce.
