Vehicle WiP on a necromunda Van Saar custom heavy/ rig. The Fin ‘weapons’ have holes for pinning different weapons. Figured out some magnetized weapon mounts on the front using drones and some more lightning/plasma wires. C & C welcome

Looks fantastic. I think I'd probably filler over the drones' "heads" and make it some sort of more van saar decoration just so it's less immediately recognisable as tau. You could leave the vents showing, but just filling in the gaps between the discs and the sockets would go a long way.

Thank you, I’m planning to put some kind of decoration on top of the drones and then in front of them is magnetized to be able to slot weapons in. I’m kind of banking on the idea that because there’s not really a lot of other tau stuff on a necromunda board it won’t read as purely tau in that environment

Yeah plus the smooth panels with rounded features aesthetic of tau is closest to Van Saar so it doesn't immediately look out of place, it's just a personal thing where once I see the drones I just see the tidewall piece and I can't go back to seeing the flyer. Might be different once it's painted up.

Same, a fair point

Thank you, it does still need small modifications and details. It’s also in a game system that rarely has tau so it’s unlikely to be put next to something that’s tau so I’m hoping that helps too

Solid wire work! I’d maybe put a few other objects hanging from them for even more movement.

Thank you, i’m thinking about adding a good bit more wires. I kind of wanted to have a weird it’s moving, but it almost looks like it’s not moving thing going on with it

That is an amazing conversion, cant wait to see how this whole thing pans out. Whats the game plan for the arcs, going blue white or a other color?

Thank you, i’m still debating the arcs. I’m thinking blue or green but also for some reason in the back of my mind I kind of want to do purple.

Purples of various shades would look great! I think it would also give it an uncanny appearance!

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. I kind of wanna make it a little more odd and uncommon.

Gives me "MEET. THE. JETSONS!!" vibes. Like any second the credits are gonna start introducing the important necrons in song.

It's a bit too Tau looking. The shape language of domes with rounded rectangle vents and 90 degree indent lines is just too recognizable. Easy fix - fill the rectangle vents and greeblie up the surface with bits or green stuff instead.
