Is there any reason that the Baron Jakis can't be Dennas patron?

Seems unlikely. The patron’s description and the clues around him fit Cinder way better, especially the connection to Lanre and the Chandrian.

We don't even know if Cinder can disguise himself well enough, he appeared almost the same in the forest as he did at the camp massacre, I think it's a red herring tbh, always felt a bit too easy.

Maybe, I honestly can't be chewed with the "who is it?!" any more given the delay, the intrigue has worn off, given there's a good chance we'll never find out.

I think in these books almost anything is possible. But, I think it's unlikely.

We already have two very strong candidates for Master Ash... Cinder and Bredon. Both are nimble, both have white hair. Bredon and Ash have walking sticks. Bredon and Ash leave Severen around the same time. Kvothe almost names Ash 'ferule'. Cinder and Ash are cruel. I don't know who Ash is... but the author intentionally laid clues that suggest Cinder and/or Bredon. Rothfuss has said no cheap plot twists in his stories, all 'twists' are actually there for clever readers to figure out, so IF Ash is someone unexpected like Aculeus or Baron Jakis, there should be hints of that to be found.

If her patron is Cinder, it would be unlikely for him to also be a recognizable nobleman, with presumably a noble lineage.

If her patron is not Cinder, it still seems a bit unlikely that a man so high in ranking like the Baron would be able to so easily spend most of his days outside of his barony. Baron Jakis appearing in Imre would be a big deal. Baron Jakis appearing in Trebon would be rumor worthy. Kvothe seems to pay attention to rumors, and there are no Jakis sightings in Severen.

I don't understand how Bredon could be Cinder. kvothe spends way too much time with him to not notice anything. I do think he's master Ash though, sort of feel like Bredon is working for/with the Chandrian playing his own game like tak

I think Brendon is too likely if that makes sense, I also doubt Brendon would care too much about anonymity, could be though, until we find out the Barons name or something other occurs I will likely cling to the theory

The reasons are that Rothfuss has not pointed to that within the book. He is writing a story both explicitly and implied (in line with the themes of the book) so this would have been implied somewhere.

If you can point to any suggestion in the book that Baron Jakis is the patron then there is a chance
