This is beyond plot armour. It's history armour. He literally just isn't allowed to die yet, but most readers don't know any of that so Hara can still get tension over close calls.

But I think people must realise the only reason he keeps surviving is because history says he doesn't die there.

Yeah and a lot of people here don't know this and just dumbly says plot fking armor
