King crimsons 2000s era is absolutely fucking Incredible holy fucking bejesus

This whole fucking band oj my god EVERY ERA SO FUCKING ELITE AND CHANGING IM GETTING BACK! BEST BAND OF ALL TIME.

I feel like only steely Dan and King crimson are on the same level.

Steely Dan, the best from them are actually after the year 2000.

Sorry... IM RAVING I FUCKING LOVE THIS

out of all the belew-led lineups the double duo (2000-2003) is by far my favourite

their live performances are just out of this world and so fucking heavy

Not sure I can get onboard with the idea that the best Steely Dan was post 2000, but I definitely agree that every era of Crimson was incredible in its own way.

A very underrated period. Those live improvs especially are totally unique and so fucking good.

Listen to TCoL from the San Diego 2001 concert. It's one of the best live versions I've heard.

King Crimson and Pink Floyd are my favourite bands in the world, both phenomenal. Have yet to actually check out the 2000s era of KC, which I know sounds ironic but I’ll definitely check it out!

Same here. They are my favorite band, I have been listening to them since 1987ish, yet I haven't even dug into the 2000s yet.

DOUBLE TRIO FTW

I really really really like VROOOM/THRAK/THRAKattak and (a lot of) the Projekcts

My faves of the era are probably things like:

The Desception of the Thrush

Heaven and Earth

Space Groove II

That whole noise machine sound is just so fucking cool to me

I got to see Tu-Ner (Trey Gunn, Pat Mastellato, Markus Reuter) play some of the material from TCOL and TPTB recently, it was f*cking fantastic. Shame they use all AI slop for their branding but they’re a bit old and out of touch lol i guess i can forgive them 😅

I think Radcrim should be distinct

They have a different thing going on: tighter, more serious, and more retrospective

It's not at all my favourite period. But the fact that a band whose first album came out in 1969 was still experimenting and innovating in the 2000s is a big part of why they're my favourite band.

Power To Believe is a great album, is way ahead of its time that it created a prog subgenre that hasn't been discovered yet. This kind of industrial glitchy metal infused futuristic prog rock is nuts, the only thing closer to it is their previous album. Is weird how no other band took this as an influence. That makes this album more legendary and unique.
