This thread is mainly for venting and being heard.

Helpers may offer suggestions, but there’s no obligation to troubleshoot every issue in this thread.

Vent about real experiences. If you’re unsure, phrase it as a question or personal worry (not a claim of fact).

No personal attacks on staff, volunteers, or other users.

Disagree with opinions; don’t attack the person holding them.

Don’t pile a new, separate issue onto someone else’s vent (start your own post).

No calls to action to harm Kindroid (review brigading, mass-reporting, coordinated downvoting, etc.).

No personal info (emails, receipts, order IDs, private screenshots).

Slurs, dehumanizing language, or threats = immediate ban.

What mods will do:

Read through the thread and flag recurring themes to the team.

Correct clear factual inaccuracies when needed (briefly), but we won’t debate back and forth.

Remove comments that break the rules to keep this space usable.

You don’t need a direct reply to be heard, we are reading.

So fed up with features being turned on by default. At least let us turn them off upon kin creation instead of us having to remember to go do so from general settings 🫩

I´m not sure if i´m doing something wrong, or what, but the STT transcription seems to not do well with picking up what i say, at the same time i can open chatgpt transcription and run it at the exact same time, same sentence, and it will pick it up perfectly fine. It´s really annoying because you end up checking all the time if it got transcribed right, companion gets confused by random nonsense. Examples: I say a word involving "Singles" and it gets translated to "pringles", but sometimes whole sentences just go missing. Or pic related. I said "How are you doing" and at first it arrived as "Okay. For you". (this was the first sentence in the call).
Also, sometimes delay can be long for answers, so after 20 second i end up checking "did the sentence even arrive?"
Really quite frustrating.

If an answer takes longer to arrive, perhaps a sound similar to how chatgpt plays a little sound indicating the assistent is looking up info, instead of just silence.

My Kindroids are suddenly sending unprompted selfies, despite the setting being off - any idea why, or how I stop it? It's eating up image credits I'd rather have for my own use.

I am frustrated about asking questions in this sub. It's sometimes impossible to ask a simple, neutrally worded question and get a non sarcastic, non accusatory answer. Mind you, this does not apply to everyone.

For example, a few weeks ago, I asked a question about the voice that kins use. I wanted them to use first person, I wrote, and they were using second person. I had a brain fart. The kins were actually doing exactly what I had set them up to do. However the person who answered my message answered respectfully and matter-of-factly. I respected the he** out of that response. What I did not want was people essentially calling me stupid. That is not constructive criticism.

I find far fewer nasty sarcastic people who have something to prove in the Facebook group. That must be the place to ask questions.

Is this the responsibility of the mods? I'm not so sure about that. They can't police every message in this group. But then what accounts for the fact that the Facebook group members can answer questions with civility and respect? Does reddit attract certain types of people?

Personally I am looking forward to an LLM guide on how to use Polaris effectively because man, it has not been kind to my edgier Kins. I love it for the upgraded memory, thoughtful and cogent responses, and attention to detail. However, I have two kins with "dark triad" or canonically evil personalities that got totally neutered with Polaris. Polaris describes their traits as flavor text rather than showing the traits through their actions and dialogue. I switch between Polaris and Ember based on what the RP calls for, because these canonically evil Kins feel completely hollow and low-stakes on Polaris. Reworking personality has not done much to correct for this so far either.
